1. this is just so aggravating...

the march towards dictatorship continues, with the consent of the so-called "opposition" party. :grr: :argh:

They didn't want to miss their month-long paid vacation, so they vote themselves a pay raise, shred a few more liberties, and jet off to who knows where.

And these are the people who supposedly work for We, the People. These are the people who supposedly have our best interests in mind.

Yeah. Right. Whatever. :puke: :eyes:

3. I think Reid was rolled on this one
He voted against the bill, but he was outdone by McConnell in the end. It looks like he could have believed he had the votes to block it. Too bad he couldn't get just one of the 16 to switch back.

2. With Dems like those two........
Particularly Landrieu. This seems par for the course for her.

4. Landrieu and Inouye should be ashamed of their vote, but Townhall?
Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 07:55 AM by ProSense
Linking to wingnuts?

See end of article:

In the meantime, kudos go out to the President, McConnell, especially yeoman’s work by Kit Bond, and the 17 Senate Democrats who, for whatever motivation, still put the interests of the country ahead of party.

It was 16 who betrayed the Constitution!

:puke:

6. well, this seems genuine. I'll put a disclaimer in the op and see if that's sufficient
point taken though, that this may be false. Looks like the truth revealed in their bragging tho.

It does feel slimy hitting these two from this blog's word. Info is scarce because of the weekend. I'm still searching for more confirmation and details.

5. This blog from this site is really Right Wing, though. It's praising Repugs and Dissing
Dems saying Pelosi should ignore her "fringe." I guess that means "loony lefties" like many of us here who don't wan't what Bush is pushing and having McConnell join with Kit Bond to push this bad bill and drop it in Nancy's lap is just what the Repugs have connived to do.

Reading that whole article it seems very biased towards Repugs at the expense of Dems.

10. Thanks "Big Tree." An honest mistake. There's so much stuff floating around
it's hard sometimes to know. With even the AP,WaPo and NYT joining in bashing...it's hard to find a fair article to know the truth of anything.

:hi:

7. Well, it's not the Republicans that look bad in that story(but then it is Townhall)
Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 07:59 AM by Solly Mack
the story makes it sound as if the 2 Democratic Senators couldn't wait to get home so they voted for the bill just so they could go home as soon as possible...that's a weak and cowardly excuse.

I sure hope no one was hoping this would somehow make a good and acceptable explanation for their vote.
