In case anyone thinks this FISA thing is just temporary
Remember the executive order bush signed last week giving him the authority to order the justice department to seize the assets of anyone interfering with the "peace" in Iraq?

He already started seizing assets. That order was less than a week old. The ink wasn't even dry yet and he got to work using it.

Giving this monster these kinds of powers for even a short period of time is a huge mistake. He absolutely cannot be trusted, even for a minute.

Now I think most DUers know this. But do the American people know this?

Remember the immigration bill? Remember how it was killed after hundreds of thousands of Americans contacted their representatives and demanded they vote no? That's the kind of action we need to initiate. So from now on, when you see something posted here that says "Call your representatives", call them. Then also call other people and ask them to call their representatives.

The only way they will represent us is if we DEMAND they represent us. In great numbers. And great numbers of people need to call and insist that Congress cease giving powers to bush that he only abuses.

Since we've been so accomodating already, he would surely feel like he was being inconsiderate if he didn't volunteer to meet our original offer halfway. Being that he's from a good family--lovely people, so patriotic and well mannered.

2. "He became a king...."

"He took for himself the power of being the legislature, the power of being a judiciary, and the
power of being an executive. He became a king in this small sphere," Swift said of Bush's policies."

-- Lieutenant Commander Charles Swift --
whose Supreme Court victory on behalf of his client, a Guantanamo Bay detainee,
successfully challenged the Bush administration's detainee policy.

4. This is the second post I've read that states the administration is already
seizing assets. The first one didn't have any links to show where this was happening either. Now, I don't doubt that they're doing it. I just would like to see an example of these treasonous thugs doing it.

5. It was posted here
I also got a ton of emails about it from peace groups all over the country. The name of the person whose assets were seized was not released.
