Could there be a repeat of the 'longest election night' of 2000? |

Edited on Wed Aug-08-07 05:54 AM by Philosoraptor
Imagining horrible scenarios, my new hobby under the neo cons. What if say fred or mitt were virtually tied on election night with Hillary or Barack, 50 50, like on the longest election night in history, black Tuesday, the never ending count? It took almost a month to steal it with every trick they could muster, as we all wandered around like lost souls in Rod Serling Land.
Will the Supreme Court from hell give us all the royal buggering again?
Americans have learned to put up with the craziest things with nary a whimper, and I wouldn't put it past the neo crazies to do it again, it worked out so well the first time.

1. I still remember that night. At the bar. The thrill of victory. And the agony of defeat. |

2. Hey wait a minute--they can't do that!... can they? |
|
Yeah, what a night. Seems like it never really ended, and we'll all wake up any minute.

So far, the current crop of Publican candidates seem like Amateur Hour to me -- I don't think they or any of their staff have the competence to pull off the sort of election manipulation and downright fraud we've seen over and over since 2000.
Now, my opinion may change when/if some of the Usual Suspects (primarily Cheney and Rove) choose to ally themselves with one or another of the Publican candidates. But I'm not sure that's going to happen. My sense at the moment is that said Usual Suspects are, after six-plus years, suffering from Governing Fatigue and, with their fortunes set, will figure "we've done as much as we could" (to ruin the country) and that it's time for them to step aside and let new people take over the reins (and try to clean up the mess they made).
Either that, or they already know there won't be any handover of power on January 20, 2009, so why bother? :tinfoilhat:

Either one would fit the bill. My bets are on Mittens as the next annointed one.

There is no reason to believe that we would do anything other than Type Big Angry Posts
By the way I think you meant 'Imagining' not 'Imaging'.

8. I hope you've all read Palast's "Armed Madhouse" (latest edition). |
|
Because it looks like they're planning on stealing 2008 again, using the same tactics of '00 and '04.
