They are lined up out the door at the local organic farm
My wife and I started the odd practice of actually meeting the people who make the food we eat. This included going to a local farm to get our meat and eggs. Really good stuff too. This was about 3 months ago or so. We tried to buy into some CSA's but they were already sold out-I hear that there may be some spots opening soon.

Anyway, my wife usually makes the trip while I go on my long marathon training run on Saturday mornings. At first she had to get up and go early to get the cuts of meat that she most wanted... then she needed to get going because they were running out (only open on Saturdays)....

NOW they are having to ration the eggs. Only one dozen per customer.

Great news really. Lots of new faces my wife tells me. Yeah it could just be a trendy thing and this particular farm recently won an award which gets the name out there but we think that people have just had it with the food situation. Maybe it is just wishful thinking but what we have seen tends to indicate just that-people are sick and tired of their food coming from God knows where.

Funniest thing-the prices haven't gone up at all. Still pricey yes but there is no cashing in going on.

Look into it oh and support COOL laws.

1. My organic stores are hopping too... And now thanks to the spikes
in corn, the same price as the regular grocery store... Isn't it great to have put corn syrup in everything.

2. Just started reading Euell Gibbons' "Stalking the Wild Asparagus" ...
makes me want to go out and forage up a good meal.
