Police: Elderly Fla. Woman Beaten For $30

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- St. Petersburg police are looking for the robber who beat an elderly woman in her home.

Police said the suspect got away with about $30 and credit cards after attacking 82-year-old Shirley Ives.

She suffered bleeding on the brain and other injuries. Her condition has not been released.

Police said she was pushed to the floor after answering a knock at the door last night, then bound and beaten.

1. What is an appropriate punishment for that robber?

I vote for no jail time. None.

A simple castration and hobbling (cutting tendon so he has a pronounced limp) should do it. He'll lose his 'machismo' with one good wide slice, because he's so tough he can beat down an old lady, and with another slice, other old ladies will see him coming by his limping, and he'll have a hard time running away as well.

2. If this guy gets caught and his prison mates find out why he's there

I imagine that he's going to find out firsthand what his victim went through as I'm sure people that beat up elderly ladies don't generate much respect in the yard.
