Fired U.S. Attorneys: Were There Others?
Fired U.S. Attorneys: Were There Others?
Justin Rood Reports:

Could the U.S. Attorneys firing scandal be bigger than Americans know?

For months, the Bush administration has declined to directly answer a key question posed by Congress: were more top federal prosecutors targeted for dismissal beyond the nine that have been publicly identified?

In a new letter to senators who have been pushing for the answer, a Justice Department official said only that it was contained in information shared earlier by Justice staff in interviews with Senate aides.

"Wholly unsatisfactory," declared Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a recipient of the letter, blasting the arguably cryptic response.

A Feinstein spokesman confirmed the senator did not believe those interviews had elicited any information useful to determining how many prosecutors had faced firing as part of the White House-coordinated purge.

1. I have always thought
that Robert Meissner, a regional security specialist for the Justice Department, and Frederick Black, the acting United States attorney for Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, were demoted because that opposed the implementation of slavery in the NMI by the Tam family with the assistance of Abramoff and Hammer DeLay.

Does a demotion qualify as a dismissal? I think so, but that's JMO.

2. Not just fired . . .
. . . but also, occasionally, murdered. Tom Wales was not a US Attorney, just an Assistant. But he was a rising star who, like Pat Tillman, was poised to become a powerful, progressive soldier against the conservative corporatism of BushCo. Unlike the ham-fisted assassination of journalist Chauncy Bailey in Oakland, CA, Tom Wales was undoubtedly the victim of a professional hit.

3. Don't forgot the federal attorney in MD
who was SAID to have committed suicide. He was working on a case involving republican corruption tied to Abramoff and some high up republican connected to Maryland. I don't remember the situation, but one of the other sites had posted it right after on of the federal attorneys in California? was killed and nothing has come of it.

5. There was also
senior assistant US attorneys, Shannon K. Ross and Thelma Colbert who were found dead in their homes just a few months apart before the Senate hearings on Novation after investigating medicare fraud and money laundrying.

Strange that there was no DOJ mention or commendation for the two attorneys.

4. It isn't only the ones who have been fired. Why weren't others fired? That's
what's bothering Schumer amongst I am sure others. Just think how many are playing ball...
