Anyone know someone who has left the US...
...because of what is happening to our government?

I'm wondering if this is happening.

10. Not really. It is just difficult to get permission. You need a job for that!

12. YES. Get a job there first and then permission follows.
Getting the job is more difficult for some than the rest!

13. I had heard there were waiting lists years long.
There are days I think it would be a good move and other days I just know New England is in my blood and I'll stay and fight for it.

:sigh:

I also have other friends that have property in Belize in case martial law is declared here.....

and if they start the draft my son will somehow get to Belize...

And a few friends that are moving to Canada, but it seems there is a backlog of applications-so there is a 6 mo-one year additional delay...

6. If I had the means and the health I would have been long gone.
The good of America that I knew as a child and as a young adult is now gone. I don't see it recovering. The people have changed too much.

9. Related-by-marriage West Coast relatives plan to return to birth country
soon to build retirement home on inheritable property in un-named Central American nation. Haven't heard if the credit crunch has interrupted the planning, but I guess it's so long SF, American life's been good! Hope they'll remember to include a small long-term guest house.
