Before you JUMP; I was forced to rent it; having driven the two hours away from my house with my three year old to pick up my husband from work, at which time my car propmtly broke down at three in the morning. No, I don't have triple aaa or anything else to cover my ass; so I had to treck to the nearby airport and rent whatever was available. The caddy four door was all they had.

I'm impressed! 36 to the gallon? That's what my (other car) 95 Honda gets.

It was a DTS model.

Just thought I would mention. Posted in the lounge, thought it would be of interest here

1. What year was it?
Hubby refuses to buy a prius as it does not have enough room for his hunting coolers of all things. So I am looking for something a little bigger but with the best gas milage I can find.

3. 06, I believe.
It wasn't very old. Had 26k on it.
I'm ashamed to say I enjoyed every minuite of the powerful, cushioned air-ride. It was a nice break.

2. The Caddy car actually gets decent MPG
The Escalade, however, gets about 10 mpg

6. Is that based on the U.S. gallon or Imperial gallon?

7. That is good to know
Not that I expect I'll ever be driving one - but I will be sure and recommend it to some family members who want luxury and will also be swayed by the MPG.

It's also just one more indication that we can obviously do better on ALL our cars.
