Mods - Can we please have a thread for everything "candidate" except NEWS articles?

DU is getting so full of nastiness and vicious smears.... I admit to being guilty of snarky replies to other peoples posts about how perfect their candidate is, and how mine sucks... :evilfrown: my bad. I apologize truly. I will try to be better in the future.

But, Mods, can we PLEASE have to go LOOK for these threads in their own private cesspool instead of having them slap us upside the head as soon as we come into the discussion forum? Pretty please?

Otherwise I fear DU is going to become a place where only the most partisan can stomach reading and posting....

I am amused at some of the fights I see going on here...resembling your typical board/forum food fight...which resembles a junior high school pissing match. Yep, it can get nasty here if you let it...or get so wrapped up in things that you let it get inside your head.

The beauty of a message board...especially DU...is the diversity of opinion and personalities. It's not meant to be an echo chamber...no candidates have been endorsed and hopefully none will be. I would hope the membership here are smart enough to know what the candidates stand for and that their decision is made based on this information. In my case, nothing anyone posts here has or will alter my opinions of any candidate...but it is a great place to refer you to other sites that will give you information...good or bad.

If you think things are getting too nasty here...sounds like you need to take a little break. Take a walk, read a book...take a step back from this place (like many of us have) and enjoy life for a little. Not all of us are caught up in the popularity contests and flame games...except for a non-stop contempt for all things boooosh and Repugnican.
