Between you, me and this board I've about given up on ever getting an impeachment |
|
Which btw, would be a fitting end to this criminal gang. It just seems no one except for a few of us really even want one. now to go take my frustrations out on the inanimate objects in the yard, be back soon with sore feet and hands

What would seem automatic in a previous America seems a distant target in the new one. I really can't understand. I do know your frustration. It's time for me soon to depart and reflect.

3. You're right. I don't think it's gonna happen either. |

Just like running a corporation, everyone below the prez and vp get the ax. It's the trickle down effect.

4. Too many, it seems, including the vast majority of congress, |
|
believe that just beating them on the political playing field is sufficient. And it is barely possible that we will beat them.
But if we don't stake them through the heart with impeachment they will rise again in another cycle or two, just as they did when they escaped impeachment after Watergate and Iran/Contra.
There is no other way do deal with the evil dead.
Impeach, indict, imprison.

Look, I'm all for impeachment, but I labor under no illusion, that even if they did impeach, there would be a conviction in the Senate. Would. Not. Happen. And even if by some fluke of the Universe it did, they wouldn't go to prison.
There is no way to permanently keep evil people out of the political process.

7. I give until the end of september... |
|
afterwhich the window of time needed to get it done closes rapidly.
I'm still holding out for a hint of spine growth in congress. Just a hint, a little bit, a smidgen...

8. I'm ready for one last charge up the Hill in September |
|
By October I'll be concentrating on local races, trying to get good people into office locally.
In the meantime, I'm planning a very busy September of petition drives.

10. I gave up on ending the Iraq war before 2009, impeachment, and the party itself since June... |
|
Ever since they reauthorized the Iraq war funding, its been downhill ever since. I realized that the Democratic party, as a whole now, wants things to get from bad to worse, just so that the 2008 elections would be a shoe-in for whoever gets the Democratic nomination. If they have to step on top of a few thousand more American Soldier bodybags to get there, well, too bad for them, I guess.

Impeachment is the least of what must be done.

12. I actually would be content with criminal prosecution after they leave office. |
|
Impeachment would lead to a Repuke incumbent in the WH who would pardon bushco a la Ford prior to their exodus to Paraguay.
I prefer justice to theater.

13. I asked Hinchey this question my friend |
|
If you don't have the votes for censure, why not do what is right - AND IMPEACH. You fight the fights that need fighting, not just the fights you can win.
I think that Dems would be impowered by impeachment. I think that the sheeple would see impeachment as an attempt at accountability.
Sure it won't work, but it needs to fail. We need to try
