Maybe this is the brilliance of the Democratic Leadership. They can't easily go after this crowd since the media controls the political message almost entirely, but it seems that they're torpedoing this crowd through legal means, and allowing the court of public opinion to force these 'folks' out of office. It's been going on for months now...the list of Rethugs is almost too numerous to be believed, except all of us know that this crowd was a bunch of giant hypocrites.

I'm watching a submarine pick off the battleships and cruisers surrounding the aircraft carrier G.W. Bush.

1. But it's the flattop that has the striking power...
...and if you don't actually sink it before it launches its strike, all the other stuff is too little, too late.

The escorts are supposed to shield it.

4. If they're gone
the flattop is most vulnerable...so said Clark Gable to Burt Lancaster in the movie!

3. I hope your interpretation is what is truly happening. I think perhaps the people
*surrounding* monkey-boy are smart enough, and self-interested enough - to want to distance themselves from his court as soon as possible. The bush reign will go down in history as one of the most reviled and repulsive in the history of America, I think they want to get out while they still have a chance of landing profitable places with the corporations - before any connection to the regime is deemed totally toxic....

I just hope the world starts Nuremberg trials and jails these criminal scum.

5. And, by God, they'll get all those defenses down on the morning of Jan. 19, 2009...
George W. Bush better worry...his days will be numbered then!

6. I'd like to think that what you say is the truth of this...........
but having watched how "they" treated Gore in 2000 and how they always hyped there was "nothing we can do" from election after election (and, that includes the "Mid-Terms" where they had ample time to win back the House and Senate) then ...I'm thinking that the Dems are using Crying Wolf about ELECTIONS, ELECTIONS the SAME as the Repugs.

I have lost my faith. It's UP TO "WE the PEOPLE" to make CHANGE....

Did you see Conyers transcript after appearance on Amy Goodman's "Democracy Now?" He said he holds "Calculator in one hand...and Constitution in the other."

What does that tell you......:-(

7. I thought the day after the last election
that instead of an impeachment, something that would have little chance of succeeding, we'd see continuous investigations picking off the inner circle one by one, isolating Stupid and Cheney with only third stringers and trainees in corruption to support them.

I also didn't hold out much hope for any decent legislation getting through.

However, the investigations have not been disappointing. This bunch has been outed as liars and champions of corruption. The inner circle are indeed being picked off, along with a goodly number of second stringers.

Things are actually going quite well.

Now it looks as though they won't be able to stall the inevitable collapse of their economic bungling until a Democrat takes office.

Yes, I'm taking a hit, but life is good.

8. Submarine metaphor apt - but who's commanding the sub?
Somehow, I don't think public opinion is forcing these rats to abandon ship. My guess is that the only power great enough to sink SS BushCo is the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the permanent Washington Spook Establishment - the grey eminences like Gates, Specter, Scowcroft. Even G.H.W. has been forced to wash his hands, at this point.

10. I agree with you wholeheartedly...
the big boys have had enough. That's why Poppy was crying; he knows that the game is coming to an end. The real truth, if and when it finally comes out, will shake the world.

9. phantasmagoric reality..,.
Zoe Baird was Clinton's first nominee for Att. General but was forced to withdraw her name after it was learned she had hired an illegal as a nanny. And the US mass media featured every single twitch of the process, boldly exploring every aspect of a busy woman's need for a babysitter-and mocking Baird's $5 wage to the hapless lady who saw her non status exposed in the media's gallantry in holding Clinton's feet to the fire- the nerve of that man!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zo%C3%AB_Baird

the busheviks condoned nazi style TORTURE, they've lost hundreds of millions of tax dollars, they've ruined the country's reputation (though that MIGHT be one of the good things bush unintentionally did) and what does the pigmedia say? al gonzales was 'run outta office becuz of politics'
