Poll question: Ed Schultz: what would hurt troops more--senate debate of Iraq or wall to wall Anna Nicole Smith?
He started with a soldier struggling to stay alive in Iraq, whose seen buddies die around him, wondering what people are going to do about it back here, getting satellite news and seeing wall to wall Anna Nicole Smith coverage.

Which would hurt troop morale more: a Senate debate of Iraq or being forgotten in favor of a celebrity gossip story?

4. well, that's the real answer. I just like the idea of his question
It's like the right saying our debate of Iraq will embolden our enemies or make us look unresolute, like the insurgents are making their plans contingent on today's broadcast on CNN.

2. What is the point of this post??
I don't know that Ed Schultz is a democrat or a liberal. Yes this is a media circus. And I don't appreciate the way you label her in your post, it is pretty sick.

8. I am a liberal....
Rich old fart married her out of free choice, remember it was between consenting adults. She had psychological problems and perhaps with proper treatment would be still alive (assuming no foul play).

5. Yurbud, I see no insult to ANS in your post:

She was a playboy model.
She did marry a rich old fart.
Corporate media is taking advantage of her with its celebrity gossip stories.

It is useless to engage people who only want to fight. What they dislike the most is to ignore them.

P.S. What the fuck difference does it make what we call Ed Schultz, as long as he contributes something useful to the discourse?

12. I strenuously disagree with him on some things, but he spends a fair amount of time on labor
and some other issues other progressives on the radio don't.

13. I Must start listening to him.
My favorite is Thom Hartman. I approve of Randi Rhodes, just can't! listen to her, so I could put Ed Schultz in that listening time.

14. Thom and Randi are closer to where I'm at, but Ed's good transitional object for recovering righties

6. My guess: the troops are watching Anna Nicole coverage
If I was in Iraq, the last thing I would want to read is news about Iraq. I would probably be reduced to reading books on OJ at this point.
