So if Bush pulls the trigger on Iran, Will Britain Sit This One Out? |
|
There are several stories out proclaiming that Bush will likely attack Iran before leaving office.
One issue that remains up in the air is will Britain support such an attack on Iran, or will the US act alone except for the approval of Israel.
A quick survey of world opinions seems to indicate there won't be a 'coalition of the willing(or any other kind)' if the US pulls the trigger on this one.
Given the present sentiment in Britain to pull their troops out of Iraq, and now that Tony Blair has left office, does anyone think Britain would stand shoulder to shoulder with us in an attack on Iran?

4. So what was the result of Brown's meeting with Bush? Did he tell Bush NO on Iran? |
|
According to British papers, they were expecting Brown to put some distance between himself and Bush when they met recently, and instead Brown was very circumspect and said little to show any kind of riff with the White House.
Britain is in the process of pulling all their troops out of Iraq.
Are they just being 'polite' in not breaking with Washington publicly?

They may even finally demand that all US troops be removed from Europe, which needs to happen. The EU should form its own army and navy.

9. Can anyone name a country other than Israel that would support our attack on Iran? |
|
There might be some third world or East European countries that we could send billions of dollars to 'publicly sign on' but in reality provide no real military support.
But 'buying' supporters really does not count.
Which country would 'ideologically agree' with Bush that this action is necessary, morally right, and will back us up if we take it?
