Secret Service Issues Arrest To Students Who "Mooned" Rove
Side Dish

Moon Karl Rove, and you'll be arrested. When the politico spoke on American University's campus in April, he was met by a throng of angry Democratic students' behinds as they dropped trou and blocked Rove's motorcade. Most of the kids were given 40 hours of community service by the university, but on Friday, the cheeky group was notified that the Secret Service has issued warrants for their arrest. Details are bare, but the students are reportedly being charged with crossing a police line and disorderly conduct.

1. New definition of freedom of speech: You can make cracks, but you can't show them.

5. COMRADES!!! It is not in the spirit of the glorious Bushevik Proletariat
to show such contempt to Great Comrade Rove. COMRADES!! Great Comrade Rove has worked hard to forward the (Rich)peoples Revolution against the boo-jois
Democratic lackeys and their gangster anti-capitalist class. Forward brave SS agents!! Remove these vermin from the great Peoples Homeland of America:crazy: :silly:

6. I'm glad to know that the Secret Service has really nothing better to do.
This administration should have the circus music, "Thunder and Blazes" playing where-ever they go. That would be great! As Chimp Fuhrers motorcade comes rolling down the block, someone with a PA system has that music blaring away...

19. Seriously.
Ass cracks are not going to threaten anybody's life. A threat with a machine gun is a serious threat. Ted Nugent should be the one under arrest.

The SS again shows that they take sides in politics.

The idea that anyone in Washington is neutral is crazy, and the SS just showed it yet again.

10. Is this much ado about nothing?
DOGBERRY:
Dost thou not suspect my place? Dost thou not
suspect my years? O that he were here to write me
down an ass! But, masters, remember that I am an
ass; though it be not written down, yet forget not
that I am an ass. No, thou villain, thou art full of
piety, as shall be proved upon thee by good witness.
I am a wise fellow, and, which is more, an officer,
and, which is more, a householder, and, which is
more, as pretty a piece of flesh as any is in
Messina, and one that knows the law, go to; and a
rich fellow enough, go to; and a fellow that hath
had losses, and one that hath two gowns and every
thing handsome about him. Bring him away. O that
I had been writ down an ass!

11. You know how this will work out.
You know how this will work out.

The students who can obtain an adequate defense ("Hello
ACLU!") will find that these charges simply evaporate as
sensible prosecutors realize that there's no hope of victory
in court.

"What were you thinking?" memos will be fly but never
come to light.

The Secret Service will write a series of cover-their-ass
press releases and hope that the whole sorry incident is
rapidly forgotten by the media (which it will be).

20. Probably.
But it will cost those students time, effort and money. And if the intent is to intimidate and harass those students then it'll working.

Funny that they aren't arresting Ted Nugent. :eyes:

Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 08:57 AM by rasputin1952
he'd figure mirrors were placed on the side of the road!

But the SS can go after these kids, but they leave Nugent alone for threatening presidential candidates, the Speaker of the House...Just when I thought this nation could not get any loonier, here come the straightjackets...:eyes:

16. I wondered the same thing so in my search...

After the assassination of President William McKinley in 1901, Congress directed the Secret Service to protect the President of the United States. Protection remains a key mission of the United States Secret Service.

Authorization
Today, the Secret Service is authorized by law to protect:
The president, the vice president, (or other individuals next in order of succession to the Office of the President), the president-elect and vice president-elect
The immediate families of the above individuals
Former presidents and their spouses for their lifetimes, except when the spouse remarries. In 1997, Congressional legislation became effective limiting Secret Service protection to former presidents for a period of not more than 10 years from the date the former president leaves office
Children of former presidents until age 16
Visiting heads of foreign states or governments and their spouses traveling with them, other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States, and official representatives of the United States performing special missions abroad
Major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election
Other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President
National Special Security Events, when designated as such by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security

I could not find out about the Executive Orders though.

On a more serious note, why is the Secret Service even concerned. He is a FORMER employee of the WH. He's nothing but a hack political consultant who will sell his sole to the highest bidder and then create a campaign of lies to get anyone elected who will make sure Jeff Gannon/Guckert services him enough.

26. I would be interested to see the FEDERAL LAW against it.
I'm sure there are state laws against exposing one's self but it would be difficult to immagine a Federal law against it and if there isn't one I'd say someone in the Secrete Service fucked up royally.
