2. You read my mind...
I was going to post this a few minutes ago and changed my mind. Larry Craig has had his 50% of the posts on the first page of GD for a day. It is time to send them to pasture.

starting a new post every time they have a thought. Just an idea.

11. Nice idea. But if you really want to determine how others post, I suggest starting your own
board.

Everyone posts in ways others sometimes find irritating. That is the cost of participating on a discussion board.

24. I am not attempting to dictate how one participates.
It seems stupid, immature, and attention-seeking, to start new threads when there is PLENTY of discussion to find.

Not dictating, just complaining.

25. Okay.
Complaints are certainly allowed, as are the things you are complaining about.

For what it's worth, I sometimes am annoyed by the need for 50 redundant threads. But I also know it happens because people want to do it, and they are within their rights to do so. I also don't think anyone complaining about it has EVER changed it.

"Larry Craig and the Bathroom of Doom" -- I can see it now. Or should it be Indiana Jones? Larry Craig and Indiana Jones?

12. This is how we commit political suicide.
Everytime one of these clowns gets exposed for being a total asshat hypocrit our deeply concerned DUers share their deeply felt concern for the pain we are inflicting on the fascist asshat hypocrit. Craig made his choices. The Republican Party is the party of hate and war and modern fascism. Fuck them, fuck their families, and keep at them until they are gone for good.

26. More damaging than illegal wire-tapping?
...than advocating torture?

...obstructing criminal investigations?

...consistently breaking the law re: oversight into how the VP is protecting classified information??

...Abramoff, Wilkes, Foggo, Cunningham et all??

I am not in the mood to catalog all the illegality and outrage that surfaces almost daily.

If Jeff Gannon didn't do anything to damage the WH and the Cons you think some closeted gay man who likes risky sex in airport bathrooms is going to.

Again, as I said upthread; there is plenty of discussion available if you want to participate in in and you are not "over it" yet. No reason to start a new thread every single time you have a new idea.

Although Craig seems to be getting more media attention. The Gannon story was much more salacious.

However, there isn't a wingnut living in his mother's basement that didn't defend the Gannon scandal.

35. Gannon was merely a "reporter" who never ran for office
Larry Craig is a freakin' United States SENATOR. Of long tenure. Hypocrite par excellance. "Family Values" kinda guy.

That's what makes this so rich. That's what makes this so much better than the Gannon story -- most of the sheep never heard of Gannon anyway. They're sure as hell hearing about Craig. They're hearing more about Craig than they did about Diaper Boy Vitter.

41. OK I will give ya that Gannon wasn't elected...
Like that is some strategic point. He was just a member of the press who, without a back round check had immediate unfettered access to the green room. As well as frequently being called upon by Snotty.

Not to mention the times that he signed in to visit the WH but never left.

It reminds me of the commercials for those cockroach hotels. They check in but they never check out.

The public loves a juicy sex scandal. But when someone shreds our constitution, they don't even blink an eye. It's sad but true. Personally, if it helps take the rethugs out of power, I'll take it.

47. Foley, Vittner, Craig.... who's next? or what's next?
;)

behind the bathroom capers - the bigger story is in the hypocrisy and refusal to take responsibility

and have you noticed how quick other republics are to call for craig's resignation?

Even the whitehouse has quickly scrambled to express "disappointment"

they know they are in deep doo-doo with the voters...

we have money scandals and sex scandals - waiting for the drug scandal... or combination thereof

Consider me a charter member of the "can't get enough of it" club. Besides, the story has legs (and feet!) and this is NOT the end. Further, I think it serves us (hell, it serves ALL OF AMERICA) to KEEP driving home the hypocrisy angle. Repetition never hurt when the bad guys did it about Clinton, Gore, Howard Dean, Hillary, you name 'em, from our side. I think it's high time we force-fed the other side a taste of its own medicine. If they can dish it out, as they do, incessantly, they ought to be forced to take it, too. Preferably in the shorts. Fair game, as some famous political hatchet man said not too long ago. Fair game. If that's the way THEY want to play it, then I see no reason why we can't respond - with equal force.

Taste of their own medicine. See how they like it. Besides, it's a VERY clear, VERY easy-to-grasp concept that absolutely should be underscored again and again in the public discourse. This kind of thing hits the enemy very excruciatingly below the belt, and it's DESERVED. If they're gonna stick their dicks out like they do, with the arrogance and imperiousness and self-righteous sanctimoniousness that they have, they shouldn't be surprised at what they get back.

You never know. It might help peel a few more waverers away. This will become just one too many straws on the camel's back, just a little bit too much to stomach anymore. DESTABILIZE THE ENEMY. In ALL WAYS IMAGINABLE. USE what they inadvertently give you. We'd be fools not to take advantage of this. There's too much at stake, and too many souls to save, to let this one fizzle.

23. I have a theory about topics on internet discussion boards
As Archimedes observed, water seeks its own level...and so it is with topics on the internet. As long as there's immediate interest in the subject, people will continue to open new threads. When the initial novelty of the subject has passed, people will continue posting to existing threads. After interest has died down considerably, the open threads will sink to a level corresponding to their timeliness.

This too shall pass...although I expect Larry Craig's name to be invoked far into the foreseeable future whenever the subject of RW hypocrisy arises.
