5. the photos of corpses in New Orleans were terribly disturbing, but . . .
the photos of lost and abandoned animals were just gut-wrenching . . . these poor creatures didn't know what the hell had happened, or where their humans were, or where to go or what to do . . . I have great respect for the volunteers who spent weeks and months rescuing the pets of New Orleans -- with the exception of that one lady who got all those donations and used them for cars and salaries for family members . . .
