Do you think the electoral college should still be used?

1. Shoot I voted for no run off by accident. |
|
Personally I think we are long overdo for another constitutional convention. We need to seriously re-tool our democracy while there is still something left of it.

2. I would like to see it eliminated |
|
but it will never ever happen in a million years.
The small states that benefit from it will never vote to give up their power.

I agree--it should be abolished and there should be a runoff if noone receives a majority. This would make it more practical for multiple candidates to run, no one could be a spoiler candidate. Under this system, Candidate A might get 40 percent, Candidate B gets 35 percent, all other candidates receive the rest. In the runoff, Candidate B might receive the majority of votes. Those who voted for the other candidates will at least be heard.

4. The small states want to continue to select the nominees and... |
|
they want to have a major say in who is president.
It'll never change...but it should.

5. Those of us in small states don't see anything extra anyway |

It's all a feel good thing that makes us feel like we are impacting things and will get something in return but after the elections they just forget about us anyway. I agree, it needs to be done away with.

6. How about we make representation in the U.S. Senate proportional to population, instead? |
|
Frankly, I think the fact that 33 Million Californians only have the same 2 votes in the Senate as 400,000 Wyoming residents is a big part of the reason our government is skewed in such a fucked up, culturally backward reactionary direction.

Wyoming has the same representation in the Senate that California does, even though California has approximately 70 times the population that Wyoming has.

8. Just do away with the Senate. |
|
Lets do away with the concept of "states". Just make them satrapies of the Federal Government.
