The reports of her pinched nerve (and that she would not be attending APEC with her husband) came out before this picture was taken. Which makes the photo that much more disturbing because it looks to me like he's being a bit rough with her.

First Lady Laura Bush, undergoing physical therapy for a pinched nerve, will skip the nearly weeklong trip that President Bush takes to Australia in early September for the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

You heard it here first: You'll have to accept this as mere speculation, but this may well say something about the president's itinerary in the early part of the month leading to his presentation of a new report on Iraq to Congress.

"Mrs. Bush has been treated with physical therapy for a pinched nerve, which she injured while hiking earlier this year,'' said Sally McDonough, the first lady's press secretary, in a statement released today. "Her physicians have strongly advised her to not travel overseas in order to avoid potential complication and aggravation by extended long distance travel.''
