Edited on Fri Sep-14-07 08:24 AM by liberaldemocrat7
I told Brian I have watched CSPAN for 28 years and that I could not get to call into CBS like I can into CSPAN I mentioned Democratic Underground as a source of News after NBC and CSPAN.

David Martin did not have anything to say. Nothing.

I told him I stopped watching CBS News after Dan Rather left and that at least Brian Williams of NBC worked in the Carter administration so that appears why I watch him.

I told him corporations have too much influence over the governmental process and I called for mass boycotts in order to get the war ended and other need legislation passed.

Then I said:

Call GOP contributor and war contractor General Electric Corporation at 203 373 2211 and ask for the public relations department. Tell the person in public relations that you want the GE CEO to get Bush to end the war in Iraq and then Bush resign with Cheney and until that happens you will not buy any GE products and that you will tell your friends about this.

Yes I got the boycott message over the air on CSPAN as I have done before this year.

5. Thank you. You get a small amount of time to make a speech on CSPAN.
I stayed focused on my subjects and got the message out about ending this war.

The remedy for too much company influence on politics comes from mass boycotts and making the legislative demands of the companies and make them go to the politicians for what we want and until they do they lose our business and money.

6. Thank you! I finally gave up watching C-Span's WJ because
of so many conservative callers who are allowed to rave on...most of them just repeating RW Talking Points or raving drivel. It started my morning off in a bad way.

So glad you got through to make your statement. There was a study about how many conservatives WJ has on compared to even centrists...and it doesn't seem they care to change that.

9. Hehe well you just heard me. I do my best to call into Washington Journal once a month.
Edited on Fri Sep-14-07 09:04 AM by liberaldemocrat7
I consider myself a real Democrat. You won't hear me boosting Ron Paul like some fake Democrats do or say the war appears wrong but we cannot leave.

I want this war over and the troops pulled out of Iraq and some of them go into Kuwait and some into the Persian Gulf on Ships and some going home and others to other theaters.

We do need to defend our country but we don't need to attack countries that did not attack us.

You see this entire Bush foreign policy gets mixed with Domestic policy where Bush used this war in part to help him get the political capital to destroy the New Deal and replace it with Bush's Ordeal. The other part of course deals with oil. It usually comes back to oil with the Republiklan party.

We need to get the UN involved with this. Let the countries of the world share the responsibility of establishing a political settlement in Iraq and do peacekeeping.

17. The coverage on WJ is getting more biased by the day. My husband
and I have been taking serious note of this phenomenon lately and it is blatant. Republican callers have the edge too.

21. Part of the problem comes from Fake Democrats calling in to Washington Journal.
I hear fake Democrats calling in and saying statements like:

Oh I like Ron Paul because he wants to get us out of Iraq, never mind that Ron Paul would thorighly would attempt to dismantle the new deal.

Our country appears wrong for going into Iraq but we cannot leave now.

Real Democrats need to get their speed dialers going and call in once a month.

I got in and gave the Republicans criticism and told people how to end this war. If I can do it so can you. Do not give up on CSPAN.

I cheered when I heard you give DU a plug.

I loved how you told them that you stopped watching CBS after Dan Rather left. I was on my way to work and had to get out of the car when they started talking about Katie Couric - whom you told them you did not watch.

Later today I will post a thread asking who called GE :)

I say this seriously. I'm conducting a politics 101 experiment here.

I want people to use their power to end this war by calling GE and making them do it or lose a lot of business.

23. Brian Williams is awful
http://www.dailyhowler.com/dh043007.shtml

"But then, in December 2004, Williams gushed to Brian Lamb about his great respect for Limbaugh. Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo! Oh, how the followers of this great man have been disrespected, he said:

WILLIAMS (12/26/04): I do listen to Rush. I listen to it from a radio in my office, or depending on my day, if I'm in the car, I will listen to Rush. And he will tell you I've been listening for years. I think it's my duty to listen to Rush. I think Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due, because his audience for so many years felt they were in the wilderness of this country. No one was talking to them."

(snip)

"BY THEIR SALARIES YE SHALL KNOW THEM: Williams came to NBC in 1993, attracted by a $2 million salary. He was 33 years old at the time. When he took Brokaw’s job in late 2004, his salary was estimated to be $5 million.

Let’s make sure we know what that means: In all likelihood, Williams makes considerably more money just from Bush’s tax cuts than most of those “American families” earn in total income all year. Despite all that, he’s quite concerned about John Edwards’ haircuts."

"VISIT OUR INCOMPARABLE ARCHIVES: It would be hard to overstate the degree to which Williams embarrassed himself during Campaign 2000. Night after night, he conducted rants about Gore’s polo shirts; he complained that Gore was wearing these shirts in a devious plot to attract female voters. (No, we’re not making this up.) Howard Fineman was by his side, as his helpmate—willing to offer psychiatric theories about why Gore would dress in such troubling ways. (Why, he was wearing casual clothes to some events! And more formal clothing to others! Williams and Fineman were amazed.) In other professions, people who behave like this get fired, then escorted to a safe, quiet home. But in the late 1990s, at Jack Welch’s joint, such lunacy meant you were anchor material. It meant that you really did “get it.” You would go from two million to five."

24. You Did Good...
I was wondering which DU'er had called in.

Martin was all but humbled by the lady who called in about her husband, son and daughters repeated deployments. His tone turned from Pentagon propagandist to sniffling fool.
