John McCain looked like an ill informed crazy person today on Meet the press. |
|
John Kerry opened up a jumbo sized can of whoop ass on him and McCain just stammered and stuttered and looked like a doddering old fool. I'm watching the replay right now on cable.

However, after careful consideration and deep reflection, I am willing to be swayed in lending greater truth to your statements.

6. The only surprise is that |
|
anyone is surprised.
Facts have a funny way of making political hacks (aka stupid people) float to the surface - like the dead insects they are.
McCain sold out and got what he (didn't) pay for.

7. Kerry laid to rest the meme that "they don't have a plan" |
|
The problem with Dem plans is that they pretty much get us the hell out of Iraq. And guys like McCain like a war.
I have a neighbor who has a brother in Iraq. The guy is in the Air Force and they fly the wounded to Germany. She told my husband and I that he's been in the service for 30 years, since he was 17. And he loves it. He likes doing what he's doing now. We stood there dumbstruck. But it's made me realize that some guys like war. Doctor Strangelove wasn't that far off. McCain is in that movie somewhere.

16. A flight crew member like you describe does not experience the war |
|
like an infantryman. If he were to go on daily patrols in Baghdad, he might not love his job so much. No offense to the dedicated people of the USAF, but a guy flying back and forth from Ramstein to Baghdad in a C-141 isn't in a lot of danger.

So I think he might be touched by seeing some of the worst of it first hand.

19. I would certainly hope he is touched. |
|
However, my point was, if he was on the receiving end of some of that trauma, he might not "love war" as you put it.

horribly wounded young people. Obviously, I wasn't privy to your conversation though, so did he say that he favored the war, or let's kill em all, or anything like that?

17. What's so wrong about a guy who flies wounded out of a war zone |
|
loving his job? It's vital, and he's saving lives. I'd be proud of that too. My husband has been in the military for 16 years and loves it. He feels like he's doing his part to defend his country, even if he disagrees with the Iraq war. He's not violent, psycho, or maladjusted in any way. Believe it or not, there are some truly patriotic people out there who join up for the right reasons, and we're lucky to have them.

He is not killing people. He is rescuing them. He can justifiably feel good, like a hero.

11. Kerry was scorned by the freeps as being Lurch-like but he's awfully damn |

agile on his own two feet and dispatches with fools like McCain in no time flat.
Before the freeps assail his physical personality, they should find a Republican who can match him, width and depth, on the issues.
That hasn't happened yet and isn't likely to.
Consider also Kerry's flawless performance in that first debate with Dubya. Kerry rolled over the little monkey without breaking a sweat.
McCain is a man in shards. I'm sorry he harbors delusions that he will be our next president, but by all the evidence, it appears that he will certainly not be our next president, and somebody -- maybe his wife would be the one -- needs to sit him down and tell him it's time to withdraw.

12. I Feel Sorry For McCain - But Sorrier For The Rest Of Us |
|
Seems like McCain decided to sell his soul to get elected - but he sold it at the wrong time, when Republican incompetence and corruption finally came to a head.
Now he is, in fact, a crazy person - after so many years of working toward the Presidency, he's on an express train to oblivion - and it's not wearing well on him.

14. McCain is not as stupid as it seems sometimes |
|
But that has all gone on hold while he runs for president. Everything that has come out of his mouth for the last 6 or 8 months since he announced for president (including the restart) has been some kind of red meat for the base that will vote in the Republic primary.
Unfortunately for McCain the Republic base treats his red meat like rotten horse meat mainly because in previous years he has shown some common sense at times for which the base can't stand him.
Therefore, McCain comes across as a blithering idiot when faced with the reality as Kerry described it.
