The news is awash about his Andrew Meyer's website perhaps showing him to be more of a performance artist than a political activist.

I did not say the taser did not hurt. What I am saying is that by fighting physically with the campus police - which Myer did - he allowed the situation to escalate. Myer is a big guy. You can see that if you watch the video. The campus police took him down and he continue to flail. Call me kooky but I see no reason why a security officer should have to risk bodily harm because some lout ignores one of the most basic rules of Civil Disobedience - GO LIMP. Would you rather they beat him with clubs?

The AP story tells of a website with the Harry Potter stunt (on MSNBC) and something about him trying to act drunk (so he fancies himself an actor) and picking up a girl...?

If you go to the top menu link, "video" at http://www.msnbc.msn.com and look at the Today Video sub-menu and the report, you'll see some of the other video Meyer has on his 'other' website on what seems to be "performance art"..

NBC and AP got the link, but no one seems to want to share it!

ps on edit: The bit about him being a Jackass contestant was my commentary, but it seems to me that the nature of his "art" is to get people pissed off at him...

He may have stupid adolescent humor on it, but he also has some political writing on it. I saw a column he wrote in 2004 that was a comment on a B* speech basically saying B* is a liar.

So I don't think it is fair to say he's a fraud as though he has no interest in politics.

My problem was that, in trying to avoid the MANY other Andrew Meyers(!), I was searching for Andrew Meyer Harry Potter - to narrow it down, but that bit of video doesn't seem to be on his website, let alone meaningful descriptions of the videos that ARE there...
