"Dreams" (poem)
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 11:09 AM by shadowknows69
Dreams I've had of late, strange things do reside. Things I desire, or abide, or things I fear? Or a plea for people to hear?
That's for others to decide. Just my dreams. Fantasy with message insde.

The people with one voice and one fist both raised high.
Chanting songs of protest: "Were not gonna take it"
Or grafitti that says "No More Easy Ride"
On buildings and bridges; roads and barns and on people's fridges

With phosphorescent and pastel paints turning the turnpikes blue.
Not letting the masses miss the messages
Wherever they go whatever they do.

The Republic is dead! Long live the Republic!
Is the war cry of the time.
A new creation out of chaos will arise.
Reinvention, retrospection, revision, revise.

If the Republic is to be saved. This must be the last time that she dies.
"Time to stand or hide!"
On schoolyards or train cars or Youtube or your car.
photos to tell the deeds taken by others, further spreading the seeds.

Marches becoming occupations, shots fired, dying lamentations.
Anger rises, tension higher, farther, faster, the escalation than ever before.

Cities burn far away then in the "Homeland"
Somebody brings the fight here anyway.
Some of them may be here today.
The people scream and the ears to hear are closed.
Locked safely in bunkers with food and family and the world's last playstations and I-phones.

Uncivil war and bloody revolution. Four horsemen ready for the resolution.

Mobs close in and the Morlocks™ wonder why?

Arrogance to the last as they’re dragged out to be judged. A lot of people holding a grudge.

“We could have done this the easy way” a man in black starts to speak. “You could have served your people instead of preying on the weak”

The Judged sit silent knowing they have no defense. The man in black continues; his demeanor more intense.

“A litany of crimes at these proceedings have been read. You can offer no defense so guilt is the verdict the jury has said. Your payment should be a firing squad but we decided to go traditional instead. Something from France, so kiss your ass goodbye and say goodbye to your head”

I awake from my dream and get something to eat. I think on its meaning as I’m taking my seat.

For those who ignore history sometimes it repeats.
