23. OMG - Joan Baez is absolutely stunning
I saw her at Camp Casey a couple of years ago. She is so beautiful - inside & out.

What an honor for the Dixie Chicks. They deserve it.

"Listen carefully to their words."

7. Dixie Chicks may have lost country music fans, but they've gained fans outside
of country music.

10. What an honor to be introduced by Joan Baez - just validates
them even more. Won't start on the West Coast til 8pm - we never get anything live.

19. You mean the Grammy's may amount to something after all?
Personally, I think they are something of a joke. How many Fathers of Rock and Roll have ever won Grammys? Very few. Tab Benoit should have one or more just for his efforts to raise money for Katrina victims. He won't win one. Tinsley Ellis should win one because he's just damn good. He won't. Muddy Waters should have won several because he was HUGELY influential in the world of Rock and Roll. He didn't. Robert Johnson should have some sort of award named after him because he basically invented Rock and Roll, albeit in a primitive way. Etc. etc.
When Jethro Tull won the award for "Best Heavy Metal Group", that soured it for me. I like JT, but they were never a Metal band.

24. Jethro Tull a metal band?
Tinsley Ellis is a fine blues guitarist. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live a couple of times. Another excellent little known guitar player that will never recieve a grammy is Jim Weider. If you ever get the chance go see Jim play live. he replaced Robbie Robertson in the BAND. He's a master of the telecaster. I'm happy for the Dixie Chicks even though I'm not a country music fan. I like their new song. I hope they win.

25. Does this mean that they didn't make any political statement?
x( Or is there still time for them to do so. Not watching, but I was hoping for a big moment when they criticized chimp and lots of fake outrage from the repugs.
