An Effective MoveOn.org Ad Might Be....
One that highlights the number of times the Republican Senators have 'filibustered' Democratic attempts to pass legislation since Democrats took power, and the bills that have failed because of the lockstep votes to filibuster.

People continuously poll low approval numbers for this Congress. Such an ad would expose the reason Democrats in Congress have been unable to do the job they were elected to do in 2006, including the ability to END THE WAR IN IRAQ.

There are some telling quotes from Repubs who indicated they intend to obstruct and vote against every Democrat measure brought to a vote, which would make a nice insert in the ad.

1. You are right about that
or possibly taking a more focused local approach. "Senator Dingball claims to serve your district and support the troops. He even claims to support civil liberties. But did you know he stood up and filibusted measures that would have restored habeus corpus? He filibustered measures that would have let our troops spend as much time home as they did in the field. Maybe his record isn't all it's cracked up to be."

Something like that but less lame.

2. You could buy hundreds of hard hitting local ads like that for $65,000....
And ads like that would be target to constituents who have the power to vote out the Repub in the next election.

I just think most people nationwide who did not know who MoveOn.org was before running their 'Betrayus' ad probably dismissed it as a 'one trick ad' against the war, when we all know that MoveOn.org is 3.2 mil strong and involved in an array of issues that impact all AMericans.

3. Let Democrats buy the ads when the public is paying attention
Move On got what they wanted from the chattering class.
