The only solution is to get more people informed and angry about it. |
|
Until more people get informed and outraged about everything that's going on and the people take this country back we will continue to be more and more screwed.
We have a very uninformed and ignorant populace in this country. People continue to be more and more dumbed down. Part of the problem is the media - who only cares about making a buck and their ratings. Rupert Murdoch continues to buy more and more media outlets too. The other part is the people who just don't care or who fall for all of the propaganda.
I'm really struck by the difference between Europeans and Americans. Europeans are so much more informed about this country and the world. They know about everything that's going on in this country and are shocked at what is going on here.
The state that has the top educational system (Massachusetts) of course is the most liberal and has some of the best politicians.
Until this country demands more from our politicians we will keep on getting more of the same from the (Dems and Reps).
I live in Florida and it's really shocking at how many people here are oblivious. We aren't anywhere near even being the worst state either. I only wish that people from the blue states could come down here and see the real extent of the problem. It's really mind-boggling. I came from a blue state (Illinois) and it's been a real case of "culture shock."

1. Kerri is my prez too and you are right.I am from a red state currently |
|
and originally from a blue state NY and the culture shock was amazing! But their dumbness will eventually work against them. The local GOP even had all their fundraisers quit after "purging" sane GOPERS! The local party even stripped John Mccain of PC status and removed him and their former Governor from their State Committee. This is going to bite them in the ass big time.Florida will turn as well. You know how they say some are to stupid to live? That is the GOP!

2. People are turning little by little - but it's taking too long. |

This country will be exactly like the old U.S.S.R. in a few years the way it's going.

3. You hit all the right points, the question is how to deal with it. |
|
From my POV, the first problem is most people don't know anything about the world around them if it isn't spoon-fed to them on the teevee. Too many people don't read or talk to their neighbors. How many people could name five of their neighbors? We're living in a world where social isolation is the norm. You can't change people's minds or open their eyes to reality if you don't talk to them.
For me the best thing I ever did was turn off the teevee and get back to reading and searching for information. Once I got away from absorbing information in a passive mode and had to put some effort into getting information about the world around me, I got more agitated with the more I learned. Years from now there may be some scientific study that shows that there is a difference between passive and active learning processes. I'm pretty sure my experience will be supported. on't believe what the corporate media tells you, they have an agenda that isn't in your interest, they just want to make money. As far as how to change things, here's a few ideas
Tell people don't believe any source of information unless you can find at least two other sources to confirm what you're being told. Tell people that "any official statement" should be considered as BS because they're just trying to sell their POV. In today's political climate, assume any statement from someone in a position of power to be a lie. Try and talk to everyone you meet about important subject. Most people know there is something wrong, they just don't know the details. If you can inform them or pique their interest that's another person with their eyes wide open.
The fight may be long and hard, but I'm sure we can win.
