The Moveon condemnation will backfire......
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 03:34 PM by Flabbergasted
They've turned a once run ad into a political firestorm and its heading right to congress. LOL.

Let them respond to this:

http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2007/09/moveon-moves-on.html

MoveOn moves on with its 'Betrayal' ads: Latest one targets Senate Republicans

Showing no signs of letting up in its campaign alleging that the nation has been "betrayed" by those who support President Bush's policies in Iraq, MoveOn.org Political Action today takes aim at Senate Republicans.

A new "Betrayal of Trust" TV ad targets Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other Republican senators for voting "against a plan that would give our soldiers reasonable time to spend with their families before having to return to war."

MoveOn says it will spend $100,000 to broadcast the ad in Kentucky and nationally on CNN. The liberal group hasn't yet put the ad on YouTube. We're planning to post it here once they do.

MoveOn's original ad in this series -- a New York Times full-pager wondering whether Gen. David Petraeus should be called "General Betray Us" -- set off a controversy that continues to rage and has spurred Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani's campaign to run an ad in response.

4. They've picked their opposition ... and it ain't us!
Move On doesn't represent me or the Democratic party. They're a convenient target for the GOP to repeat their attacks on the left in general. I don't mind ... it's not like the energy they're squandering or the effort they're making is effective ... but I want to distance myself from both sides of this mud fight.

10. Moveon may more accurately reflect the will of the American People than Congress on the war.

15. totally agree
Polls before he appeared before Congress showed that half the population wouldn't believe what he was going to say anyway.

I wish somebody had shown those 22 Democratic chickens those polls before they voted for this stupid bill.

Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 09:54 PM by MissWaverly
there is much, too much that has been accepted by our party and our country of this outrageous, criminal abuse of authority and innocent people have been injured and are dead, and Bush and the Republican party are worried about Miss Manners while cholera spreads in Iraq due to contaminated water and people die every day in a country we invaded by mistake.

the time for being nice is past
speak truth to power

...and 27 (number corrected on edit) Democratic senators voted for the resolution to condemn Moveon's ad.

I took that as my cue to donate $100 to Moveon.org, and to let them and my two senators know that I've done so and why.

7. I believe the "betrayal" theme is spot-on!!! In fact, the American people HAVE been,...
,...betrayed over and over and over, again. Our military has been repeatedly betrayed, our elderly and our children have been betrayed.

:patriot: Salute to MoveOn.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! :applause:

8. "Betrayal of Trust" ads are a brilliant frame for MoveOn to attack the Repukes
especially since they voted against Jim Webb's amendment to help the troops get the needed rest betweeen tours of duty.

17. A lot of us are donating to help pay for the airing of this ad specifically
to show Repubs and their Dem enablers that every time they attack those of us who care enough to speak out, they will just help fill MoveOn's coffers. I do the same thing every time the RW noise machine attacks one of our candidates. I go to the candidate's site and make a small donation.
