very cold here the last couple of weeks and when I was on my way into town today I saw a tree full of robins! I had to do a double take, I've never seen them here this early. There was about 12 of them and boy were they fluffed up, I think it was around 22 degrees here today and windy. :wow:

|
Song Birds! In February! And we had flies in the house last month. Flies, in January, in Massachusetts. I have talked about hearing those birds all week.

7. They've been wintering in Southwest Ohio for years |
|
No more are they harbingers of spring. What's creepy for me is how many of them gaggle in the same place. I've seen more than 12 -- a lot more -- at times in my yard.

In the Chicago suburbs. Had to do a double take. It's been super cold here too. Today was the first day in a couple of weeks it's been above 10.

10. I see some are still in Florida. |

And we only see them in the middle of winter.
This winter has them all screwed up.

11. Robins are not uncommon here in western WI in the winter. |
|
If they can find a regular supply of food and shelter, some stay all winter.
