Think of Pvt. Matthew Thomas Zeimer of Glendive MT Today

Keep this family in your thoughts and prayers today

*************************

GLENDIVE - As residents of Glendive were making preparations to honor a local man killed early this month in Iraq, law enforcement and military authorities were planning how to deal with the threatened presence of protesters at the funeral.

Services for Pvt. Matthew Thomas Zeimer, 18, are scheduled for 10 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment with military honors in the Dawson County Cemetery.

Zeimer, a 2006 graduate of Dawson County High School, was killed in a firefight on Feb. 2 in Ramadi in central Iraq. His body was returned to Glendive on Thursday.

6. Phelps and his group are trying to become martyrs
Picking on real victims, trying to become victims themselves.

Was pleased when locals protected the Baucus family from the loonies after Phillip Baucus was killed in Iraq. The ranch were that service was held is pretty easy to cordon off.

A church in Glendive, not so easy to keep outsiders away. Hope it goes peacefully and without the hateful presence of the Phelps bots.

When small towns bury their dead, it is community. May they all show each other kindness and lend strength to Matthew Zeimer's family and friends.

And may any recruiters in the area choke on their own cud.

7. How very sad.

As is this comment about the article:

"Thanks Matt for fighting for us and protecting us. You will always be a hero.God Bless!"

I guess this is how the wingnuts reconcile it: Convince yourself that "Islamofascists" are out to get you, support sending young men and women into an illegal war, offer thanks for "protection," refer to dead soldiers as "heroes," invoke God, tune into the torture-fest known as "24," sleep well at night. Repeat.

Enough "heroes" have been made as a result of this war - stop the insanity!
