I'm tired of Congress wasting time with non-binding resolutions. I have heard that the White House is fighting such a resolution, so there might be something more to it than meets the eye, but what the hell?
Pass a resolution that says we will support the troops who are in Iraq right now, for a limited time. Set a deadline for a time table for withdrawal. State that no additional funds of any kind will be provided to move any additional troops into Iraq, and those who are not there yet must return home, or be reassigned elsewhere.
Then rescind the permission to use force granted in 2002.
It's time for Congress to get serious about this. We keep getting troops killed, and for what? The war in Iraq is based on lies. LIES!
1. No WMDs. 2. No connection with 9/11. 3. No assistance to the terrorists. 4. No threat to the U.S. 5. Iraq did nothing to us to instigate a war.
SO WHY THE HELL ARE WE OVER THERE, SPENDING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND ALLOWING OVER 3,000 OF OUR TROOPS TO BE KILLED?
