Keeping my mouth shut at work. |
|
Ugh! Just over the partition in my cube, the mouth breathing has been going on for 20 minutes. Don't they have any work to do?:eyes:
Global Warming is a scam. None of the Democrats are accepting public financing...how hypocritical. Nancy Pelosi wants a big plane to party on. These are the people who we should trust with our health care? They can't take care of the government, much less the rest of us. As well...when you look at the other countries, their don't have good health care either....blah, blah, blah, verbal diahrrea, poisoning the well vomiting of talking points, yada, yada, yada.
AAAAARGH!
SERENITY NOW!

The way I figure it... if they're taking a break and distracting me, well I might as well try to help them get rid of some of those delusions.

I like the Dixie Chicks idea...and if you're so inclined just drop this one in: Only two of the "Developed" Nations do not have universal health care: The United States...and South Africa.

One of my supervisors acclaims her hero as Ann Coulter and reads Drudge faithfully.:puke: She was ranting on and on about global warming and Obama's Christianity the other day. I just have to suck it in and walk away. These are the 20% that still support this failed pResident. If they haven't got a clue by now, they never will.

on their sleeve? I mean, I have prejudices too, but when 80% of the planet is telling you that you're wrong and the data is certainly looking that way, when do you stop to think that maybe it's time to listen to other news sources?

16. Um.... why are you keeping your mouth shut? |
|
As long as they think they are unopposed they will continue with their verbal diahrea. As long as you remain silent your ideals will remain silenced. Its sort of how the human condition works. We spread our ideas by talking about them. They are being very effective in spreading their ideas and reinforcing them with one another. If you want to see your ideas spread then you have to talk about them.

28. Well, one of them is a red faced heart attack in waiting. |
|
He's about 60 years old, and on some serious heart meds. I can't take that responsibility. The other one is almost 60 and a total blockhead, and nothing gets through anyhow. I told him that the Stella story with McDonald's coffee was mostly wives tales and bunk, that the actual court case was for sure negligence on McD's side. He refused to read the court case, because his mind was made up that she was stupid for putting 180 degree coffee in between her legs, as if 180 degrees is safe to put in anybody's mouth, much less give her 3rd degree burns on her vagina. Her award? One days worth of coffee sales from McDonald's. He thought McD's was the victim.:silly:

Simply tell them that the restaurant had recieved multiple warnings and citations that they were serving their coffee too hot. They refused to comply and thus when someone got hurt they were liable.

took a parttime job in an office crawling with rw knuckledraggers. They played Rush in the morning, Hannity in the afternoon. One guy had a photo of chimp in his cubicle.
I would bring a walkman and listen to an oldies station (this was before AAR) as much as I could. But it got to be too much. I had to leave for my mental health.
Sounds like you are only being subjected to the views of the idiots right there and not being held captive to rw radio. As bad as it is, it could be worse!

In Virginia I'm constantly surrounded by assholes. I'm very active in local grassroots stuff right now but I only tell the gay guy and the lady whose husband is in the union what I'm up to. The other four only know that I worked for some Democrats in the last election. They don't know I'm a peace marcher every week and that I've joined an impeachment committee, and that's the way it stays.
They have toned their rehetoric down from when I first arrived here. They no longer say that nonsense like liberals think this and liberals think that because I won't talk to them about it.

Background voices sound like unintelligible murmurs, I can hear the phone ring, other than that I'm just working and listening to Mozart.
I hope Mozart wasn't a freeper. If so, oh well ...

I do the same thing to ignore my obnoxious office mate. He talks all the time, never listens. He started bringing in his iPod, but was listening on iHome speakers. The volume wasn't so much a problem, but his taste in music is, lol! And it didn't keep him from talking.
Once I started wearing my headphones, he stopped talking to me - Great!

Benefits of the shitty economy for us people with master's degrees and doctorates. We're too expensive.
Benefits besides sleeping late and not burning gas, and not wasting my breath and energy trying to convince people who don't give a damn that I am smart, brilliant, in fact, and competent. Because I'm too old and too expensive I guess.
Why should we waste money sending our kids to college, if it doesn't get them any decent jobs. It didn't get my boomer ass any good jobs, even though I graduated from two expensive private schools. It's who you know, it has nothing to do with competence.
