Is Preserving Bush's "Good Name" More Important Than 1st Amendment Rights?
To many in Colorado, that is apparently the case:

"Hundreds of students turned out at Colorado State University to speak their minds on whether the student newspaper's editor should lose his job over four words".

"About 300 people crowded into a classroom Wednesday night, with another 200 or so spilling into the hall, to discuss a column that read simply -- "Taser this: F**k Bush." The debate centers around whether this is a case of First Amendment rights, or a case of abusing those free speech rights with an irresponsible, offensive remark...."

7. First Amendment rights are never abused --- just used.
The press has no obligation under the Constitution to be anything but free. There is no requirement that the press be fair, balanced, objective, patriotic or anything else. The rights cannot, by definition, be abused!

3. Bush's "Good Name" must first be created
You cannot preserve what isn't there in the first place.

6. He should lose his job for being a crappy columnist.
Now, if he wrote for the Daily Bumper Sticker Slogan, he should be promoted.
