Former Senator Rick Santorum to run for Pennsylvania Governorship in 2010?
John Micek reports for the Allentown Morning Call from Harrisburg. He writes a daily satire-tinged blog entry, which is where this item was published today.

Surprising Exactly No One ...

... it would seem Our Rick is contemplating a return to elected politics. And this time, he's got his sights set on the Executive Residence.

This week's editions of conservative magazine The American Spectator report that Santorum, who now makes his living scaring people to death for a right-wing think-tank, is seriously considering a run at the Republican nomination for governor in 2010.

Apparently the latest round of speculation was prompted by Santorum's recent appearance at a fundraiser for the Lancaster County GOP that was billed as a "thank you" to the county apparatchiks who supported him during his 2006 re-election wipe-out against U.S. Sen. Hermetic Bob. Some, however, were spinning it as the beginning of a comeback tour that'll probably last longer than The Eagles.

"Rick is a politician and he loves the competition," one of those omnipresent "close advisers" told the Spectator. "He's getting back in, and he's young enough that a gubernatorial run would set him for great opportunities politically down the road."

Hopefully, Santorum will change his mind and hold on to his day job.

2. I'd like to think most Pennsylvanians are smart enough not to return him to elected office
Santorum might win outside of the "T", but that's it.

5. Losing to Bob Casey, Jr. was a huge blow to his ego, and Santorum no doubt believes that loss was a
fluke.

4. Does Rick even PRETEND to live here in PA anymore?
Haven't seen any local news coverage of him lately.

6. LOL! Did you see this entry in the blog's "Comments" section?

So "Our Rick" might run for Governor? Does this mean he will move back into Pennsylvania, and enroll his "uber" children in the Public Schools? Like that would happen!
