Ohio is keeping its touch screens
This is a prime example of why I consider myself partyless in Ohio. Our newly elected DEMOCRAT, secretary of state, who replaced the infamous Blackwell has decided to keep those unreliable Diebold touch screens.

The stench is still in Ohio too.

Ohio is keeping its touch screens
Brunner plans review to improve voting

    Plain Dealer Reporters

Ohio's top election official said Friday that the state can't afford to give up on touch-screen voting machines despite decisions by two other states to abandon the technology.

Instead, Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said she wants to boost confidence in touch-screen systems and plans a review within six months to look for ways to better handle and secure the machines during elections.

Her comments came a day after Florida's governor announced the state will scrap touch-screen machines used in 15 counties because they do not produce a back-up paper record. Ohio, in contrast, requires a paper record for all touch-screen machines. ...

Congress appears to be jumping into the issue, with a bill expected to be introduced Monday that would require all voting machines to produce paper records. ...

7. I did not vote for minister Strickland. I am not surprised.
I voted for the Independent candidate.

We never hear a word in the news about the governor. He seems to be invisible.

Ending this war and securing our vote are the two most important issues facing our democracy - and we are waiting.............

5. How sad that Ohio cannot "afford" fair elections..

6. Keyword: "Can't Afford" - Those numbers should be checked
Someone should do a past, current, & long term cost analysis on e-vote machines. Invoices & related expenditures from e-vote vendors should be easy to get since everything is public records. Just a suggestion.

8. the paper trail is useless unless it is used to audit each election.
its a lot more work to use touchscreens you have to keep an eye on than some reliable technology that just works.
ie paper ballots and hand counting.
