Dixie Chicks CD sales up 1641% in the last 24 hours
Edited on Mon Feb-12-07 04:55 PM by Mortos

Sales of the Dixie Chicks multi-Grammy award winning album, "Taking the Long Way" have exploded since their sweep of last nights premiere music awards show.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/discussionboard/cd/discussion.html/ref=cm_cd_dp_tft_tp/102-6664502-3517736?ie=UTF8&asin=B000F7MG4G&cdThread=Tx10MHQNKA6PLH1

Despite the last few Bush dingleberries still spouting the same tired and untruthful right wing mantra about the Dixie Chicks (album sales suck, concerts don't make any money, they can only perform in other countries, Natalie Maines is unnattractive...lie, lie, lie, big fat jealous lie) it appears their 3 year long exile may be over.

Their album moved up to the number 5 spot an hour and a half after the Grammy's ended.

Edit: The Chick's album is currently number 2 on Amazon.com

Congratulations Ladies, you deserve it.

Freepers, shut the fuck up, your whining has become pathetic and childish.

5. Maybe that is true
But the Chicks are still raking in the money from the sales. They are likely laughing all the way to the bank.

and Jesus Camp will get cited for air pollution.

2. Not one of their big fans
But congratulations to the ladies. I suspect that some of the surge in cd sales may have something to do with the fact that they won Grammys. Often, stores feature Grammy winners. I remember when Bonnie Raitt won a pile of Grammys, her sales jumped dramatically as well.

I bought the album the day it came out to support them and it turns out the album is quite good. I am glad to hear this.

Freepsters are in a tiz over the whole grammy night. They are never going to watch that liberal show again. Poor little freepers

7. This album was DOUBLE PLATINUM prior to the Grammy Awards.
So they were a success before winning all the awards anyway. Seems the right wing talking points really aren't have such an impact anyway.

Double Platinum is hard to attain, even when there's no controversy surrounding you. Not Ready to Make Nice is an awesome song, even when you don't consider the true message.

Good goin', Dixie Chicks. And I can understand why you would be ashamed that Bush was from Texas. I'm ashamed he's from America.

that people can check to see if what they say is true? I went over to that cesspool where they congregate and there was post after post about what a failure this album was and how the Dixie Chicks couldn't sell albums or fill concerts.

Big fat fucking lies. I guess their own members believe whatever they are told without checking.

listening to Willie. I got so damn depressed I told my friends that I had to stop listening to him. ha His songs have a way of hitting you right in the gut and Mickey Raphael's harmonica playing makes you want to have a beer and cry. Love Willie and Mickey.

34. They won't be making as much money as Bush's Iraq War goldiggers will,
but then again, hundreds of thousands didn't have to lose their lives for the scratch they'll be making.

What a sign of the times The Dixie Chicks are. America is done with Bush/Cheney.

Please, impeach them and indict them already. Enough is enough.

We've had it.

to publican fascist ideology bent on stifling free speech and dissent. We're mad as hell, and we're not going to take this anymore. The Dixie Chicks speak for me. And we're embarrassed George Bush has made the last six State of the Union messages. The bumbling stumbling mumbling moran act is a cover for asocial criminality. To The Hague. They never said anything about the troops, they said that Bush was an idiot. Now they could not say that because we were in a war for freedom against a dictator who didn't let his people say anything against him. Its a wonder those people's heads just don't explode.

And its not like this was some sudden deal, the DC had won 8 of those grammy paperweights already. Any comment about their sales being less of what they were must be seen in a context of ALL record sales being off by as much as 1/3 across the board. Whatever concerts they had to cancel at the pig barn at the state fair have been made up for in ones they booked and sold in places they never had sold before.

P.S. This old DeadHead hippie loves country music - like Hank, Patsy and Willie.

I'm so glad for all the success they're receiving, they deserve it. It warms my heart to know that they not only made it through the pro-war fanaticism that overcame their fans, but they came out stronger and better because of it.

I've never been a fan of country music, but I will buy this album. And I can't wait to buy the "Shut Up and Sing" DVD next week!
