As OMC's wife lays sick in the hospital I sit here thinking about life, and listening to this song and my own life - and yours.


A friend of ours, maybe just a screen name to some, is suffering. A real person at the other end of the keyboard we type on. And we have answered the call for he and his wife.

We did not care if we did not agree on issues, we are too big to let that smother our compassion. We are humans, liberals, and we care - and we feel this pain together.

I applaud you all here, and thank you for being there for OMC in his time of need. Pain transcends all the BS and when it comes time to be there for others, we stand.

Someday, we will all face something hellish - and I am glad to know I have good people like you in my corner, and in OMC's. And we will be there for you as well. Despite how we might fight over issues, when it all comes down to it we are there for each other.

I know OMC is busy right now, but I know he is appreciative of what we here have said to him in his hour of need.

DU has done good, through all the flame wars and arguing over candidates and senate votes you have stood up for someone and it makes me proud to call myself a member here.

I am a DU'er, and I can say that proudly. Thank you all for the wonderful thoughts and prayers for OMC and his wife.

To Stacey - we are all pulling for you honey. Get well soon!

10. I don't know OMC outside of here, but I do know pain like he is feeling

and I hate that anyone feels that, ever.

I had people here to turn to when my mom was ill, and it meant a lot to me. I don't get out much, and had more friends online then in real life.

People here have been a great help to me emotionally over the years, and it has helped keep me sane on the many sad nights I have faced.

Real people relating to me, tons of folks who could grasp the hell I went through (and am still going through).

And I damned thankful for it. Now, someone else needs us - the least I can do is return the love I have been shown.

been to these places before and will be again, but not as hard as this is on OMC. All my prayers and all our will for her recovery. The miracle is right there.

I'm thankful you posted this. I've been so furious the last few days. I have hardly done more than just read the latest posts and post and run.

But what you just said about agreement versus caring is something I need to learn.

We don't go anywhere pulling in different directions. I'm with you on this. And I also pray for Stacey.
