I'm not saying that Congress shouldn't issue them, just that it would be fruitless. Taylor has been ordered by bushco not to pursue contempt citations should Congress issue them.

As for inherent contempt, you still need a majority of the chamber to pursue.

They should impeach Gonzales. If he were convicted he would not be allowed to serve in government again. There would be a trial, with improved subpoena powers. It has the added bonus of not obstructing the duties of the Attorney General since he is already gone.
