My great-grandmother had a visitation from her daughter (my great-aunt) who, unbeknown to Granny, had died of brain cancer. We didn't tell Granny, because at 99.75, she was in fragile health herself (for the first time in her life, and after giving birth 15 times). Granny got up and told my cousin who was staying with her, that her aunt had just died... and came to tell her good-bye. She even knew it was brain cancer. We were very, very careful NOT to even mention it while in Granny's house... there is no way she could have known.
What we know about this life is one grain of sand, compared to all the beaches in all the world representing the knowledge there is out there.
