Condi is swearing Nancy Brinker in as new Chief of Protocol at the State Department. Brinker is head of the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation aka Race for the Cure and a Bush Pioneer.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will deliver remarks at the Swearing-In Ceremony for Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker as Chief of Protocol, October 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the U.S. Department of State. First Lady Laura Bush will also be in attendance.
As Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Brinker will advise, assist and support the President of the United States, the Vice President and the Secretary of State on official matters of diplomatic procedure. She will accompany the President on official visits abroad and serves as the President's personal representative and liaison to the foreign Ambassadors in Washington, D.C. Under her direction, the Office of the Chief of Protocol is responsible for activities including the planning, hosting and officiating of ceremonial events for visiting Chiefs of State and Heads of Government, as well as coordinating logistics for the visits. The office also manages Blair House, the President's guesthouse, and oversees the accreditation of foreign government personnel to the United States.
Ambassador Brinker previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary and is the founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, named after her only sister, Susan, who died from breast cancer in 1980.
Brinker will also receive an award from right wing women's group the Independent Women's Forum
