AL '08! He's looking rather slim, isn't he?

10. OMG - I had not realized the significance of this number...
Have you watched "Unseen Al Gore"? In it he sings a jingle from one of his father's political campaigns and it goes something like:

Vote for Gore
Vote for Gore
He's wise and able
And he's just 44

44! 44! 44! 44!

Unseen Al Gore

13. Another 44!! No, I am not a weird numerology person, but what's the harm...
"The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity," Gore said in comments e-mailed by his office 44 minutes after the prize was announced at 5 a.m. Eastern time. "It is also our greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher level."

3. If he won our Primary....
....he'd have a better chance of taking the White House than Hilary would.

I mean, haven't we already elected Gore once?

6. all other arguments aside
he won the popular vote and also would have won the electoral vote except the votes weren't counted and the SCOTUS stopped the recount. His overall likability and credibility have been vastly enhanced since then. The agenda of the right has been oh-so-thoroughly discredited. What else is there to say?

If the dem party collectively wanted a sure thing, then everyone now running would line up at his door to beg him to take their supporters, and ask for the opportunity to serve in his administration.

Aside from the current candidates, Kerry, Feingold, Jim Webb et al could and should rally round and declare support, then campaign aggressively. The country desperately needs to put aside bickering, roll up its sleeves and clean up the mess.

I just want to fast-forward through the ugliness of the inevitable swiftboating of whomever is nominated and get a competent in the WH.

9. I've been saying for months
that is we saw him starting to lose weight he would run...I don't know what to think of the statements made this morning from "sources" that he is not likely to - but truthfully I'm getting to the point that if he is NOT going to run he needs to say so DEFINITIEVELY

BUT PLEASE AL RUN RUN RUN - we REALLY NEED YOU....

btw I like Al Gore WAY BETTER THAN I DID in 2000 - although I liked him then - but some of his non-cliamate change speeches - ie defending our Constitution - have really made me hopeful and happy which is WHY I REALLY WANT HIM TO RUN.....

12. ironically,
that is his greater asset - defending the constitution, the whole issue described in "the Assault on reason" is by far the greater reason we need him as Pres. As great as his work on CC has been, in and of itself it does not dictate that he should be Pres.

So the big rap against him from the right will be that ( a )he is lying about the entire CC message - just trying to scare people into making him richer because he is secretly investing in green energy and ( b )even if he is right about CC, he's a one-trick pony and better suited for sec of energy than pres

His speech at Constitution Hall is the biggest reason I want him for Pres, followed by the insight in AOR and the proven competance in getting things done.
