and read a lot of posts about how bad the other guys where.
Lately it seems like there are more threads about how evil our own guys are.
It just bums me out. That's all.

1. I understand your point. |

Ya gotta realize that the other 'bad guys' are too ridiculous to pick on. Really, I can't think of a R candidate that is worth taking seriously. Peace, Kim

I don't even debate pukes anymore.I just give them a contemptuous laugh and say "what a moran" and walk away. Very little pisses them off more than being summarily dismissed in such a fashion.

with that voting record, I would not like him either
For crying shame, just because a person has a D behind their name does not mean they're necesaerily good
They willl be better than most republicans, hell all republicans, but they could do far better than they are doing.
IF that is bashing.. well guilty as charged

give it up. Of all the candidates, she is the only one I find untrustworthy. Any of the others, tho I might be enthusiastic about a few of them, I could still vote for them without reservation.

for me it is her voting record... and she has one now
;-)
It is slightly more progressive nationally, but her foreign policy is all but progressive

7. I can't be repeating RW talking points because I never listen to them. |
|
I don't watch the MSM, much less Fox, and only watch KO on MSNBC. I've never listened to RW radio. So I really don't know what the RW is saying about her.
From my own observation, however, I have no reason to trust her. She has never backed off from her vote for the IWR, and now has followed up with her vote for the Iran resolution. She calls herself progressive, but declines to say how she will address the problems with NAFTA (much less scrap NAFTA); she talks healthcare reform, then positions 'reform' as putting it all in the hands of the insurance companies.
Shall I go on?

It's always a political battle in all the parties.
That's the way it goes. That's democracy.
Debate, fight, debate some more....decide...VOTE!!! ;)
Nothing worth having ever came easy.
"You have to FIGHT...for the RIGHT...to PARTY!!!!!!!!" :P

9. On the other hand, maybe it's a matter of... |
|
... there, for the Grace of God, go me.
Maybe in taking a good look at the entire mess in the United States Congress, we have to face some truths about both parties.
It's going to take a lot of reconstruction of the Democratic Party to get us going in the right direction, I think. This bums me out, too, but more because of how long it's taken for these things to be come to the surface. It alarming what has happened to our "leaders". These Democrats may, at other times, stepped forward with more guts to make hard choices.
Now, they're like deers looking at oncoming headlights. See Nancy Pelosi lately on Meet the Press? Amazing...
Courage, brothers and sisters!

11. I think our Dem leaders |
|
have a battle bigger than any imagined. I'm not sure this isn't the process for cleaning up and overcoming the biggest fuck up in American history. I know that dividing the democratic party or the American people any further is not the answer. I don't know what the the answer is but I do know, whatever it is, it will take time and unity.

18. Agreed, it'll take time and unity... |
|
I think all politics is local, so I try to imagine the biggest dysfunctional group of people I can when thinking about how fast it took to get this awful. In this analogy, there are always members who are "enablers", and those who play out roles that hinder progress. I think we have some very good leaders in the Democratic party, but there has been a pattern to stomp them out and cast them away, or see them leave eventually. It's systemic.
I can't think that any of this will be pretty to clean up, but we have very little choice but to be part of the solution. I think that we are in a process now where we are divided, but I don't think this will last much longer. Just a feeling... If I'm right, then I'll start charging for readings ;-)

I think a lot of our candidates do not represent us. Too many have not come out forcefully enough against the neo-cons and the many crimes and atrocities of this administration. Too many are either complicit in their silence, or are trying to stay middle of the road so as not to alienate prospective voters. I wish to hell more would get a dose of righteous indignation and say, "This country is on the wrong track, this has to stop now, and this is how I intend to return honor and integrity to the White House."
My husband and I are currently watching "Frontline" which addresses Cheney and the whole Bush cabal, and we keep asking "How the hell did this happen? Why have we - as a country - allowed this to happen?" It is a disgrace.

It's good to have robust debate. It shows we care. It bummed me out at first but I realize now that Democracy is not based on blindly following the pack.
