1. There are two more DUers that have books I've read about here recently. |
|
One is a teen one, and one is an on-line book starting on October 31.

No doubt, these publications get plenty of submissions so your poems clearly are exceptionally good.
Congratulations.

http://www.amazon.com/Electric-Church-Jeff-Somers/dp/0316021725"The Electric Church" by Jeff Somers http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41CX84CY9LL._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-dp-500-arrow,TopRight,45,-64_OU01_AA240_SH20_.jpgIn the near future, the only thing growing faster than the criminal population is the Electric Church, a new religion founded by a mysterious man named Dennis Squalor. The Church preaches that life is too brief to contemplate the mysteries of the universe: eternity is required. In order to achieve this, the converted become Monks -- cyborgs with human brains, enhanced robotic bodies, and virtually unlimited life spans. Enter Avery Cates, a dangerous criminal known as the best killer-for-hire around. The authorities have a special mission in mind for Cates: assassinate Dennis Squalor. But for Cates, the assignment will be the most dangerous job he's ever undertaken -- and it may well be his last."Some debuts simply set new bars in a genre. Jeff Somers' THE ELECTRIC CHURCH is one such book, a gritty noir story that challenges and surprises with every page. A novel that is equal parts Raymond Chandler and William Gibson. A major new talent has arrived -- and it's about time!"-- James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of MAP OF BONES and BLACK ORDER

I get the feeling he's apolitical, though pretty sure he despises you-know-who, The Thing. His wife is a sweetheart... originally from Texas, her dad is a RW fundamentalist sort, very very. She apologized to me for voting for B*sh in the past (my Kerry-Edwards sticker is still on my door, and my Halloween mummy decoration is holding an "Impeach B*sh" sign)... said she'd never vote for another Republican, ever. :)

9. DU is fun to read even if you don't join. |
|
Because breaking news always seems to happen here first, before the MSM.
As I figured though, my library doesn't have the book.
