At least the cost of living isn't going up, right?

WASHINGTON - Come January, Social Security benefits for nearly 50 million Americans are going up 2.3 percent, the smallest increase in four years. It will mean an extra $24 per month in the average check, the government announced Wednesday.

2. Next spring, look for discovery of a lot of dead elders
who froze to death in winter due to inability to afford rising heating costs.

3. Yep, no inflation here. None at all
Just because milk is $6 a gallon at wallyworld, gas is $3/gallon, gold is $760/oz, doesn't mean anything. Those Soc Sec checks will buy you a better computer this year!

:sarcasm:

6. oh goody
my husband, a veteran of the Korean war will now be getting $500.00 a month. Subtract Medicare, make that $400.00 a month.

Nice job there *.

7. I'm collecting Social Security and also working full time.
I don't know how anyone could live on that pittance of a check.

without me, he'd be screwed. It is very sad. He worked most of his life.

He is now too old to work and is slowly going blind. It really DOES SUCK!!!
