BUSH Admits: We Use A Combo Of Painful Physical & Pschological Tactics...
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 06:53 PM by kpete
TORTURE

torture<1,noun>torture<2,transitive verb>

Main Entry: 1tor·ture
Pronunciation: \ˈtȯr-chər\
Function: noun

a: anguish of body or mind : agony b: something that causes agony or pain

...............................

Newsweek's Richard Wolffe asked Bush exactly the question I would have asked:

"QUESTION: Thank you, sir. A simple question.

"BUSH: Yes?

"QUESTION: What's your definition of --

"BUSH: It may require a simple answer.

"(LAUGHTER)

"QUESTION: What's your definition of the word torture?

"BUSH: Of what?

"QUESTION: The word torture, what's your definition?

"BUSH: That's defined in U.S. law, and we don't torture.

"QUESTION: Can you give me your version of it, sir?

"BUSH: No. Whatever the law says."

Bush has basically admitted that although he does not "call" it "torture" that this is what his administration is doing.

WHATEVER THE LAW SAYS (at least what has been revealed so far):

The new opinion, the officials said, for the first time provided explicit authorization to barrage terror suspects with a combination of painful physical and psychological tactics, including head-slapping, simulated drowning and frigid temperatures.

3. America doesn't Torture. That is outsourced. America does
use "enhanced interrogation" which is not Torture. It's all so simple.

4. If I were the press, I'd rake this putz over the coals.
"Whatever the law says." WTF kind of answer is that? His non-answers are getting tiring and yet, the press lets him get away with it. I wonder if torturing the fucker would help?

6. he thinks the law says a president is above all laws and can make it up as he goes
"QUESTION: Thank you, sir. A simple question.

"BUSH: It may require a simple answer.
(LAUGHTER)

"QUESTION: What's your definition of the word torture?

BUSH: That question is torture.
(LAUGHTER)

"QUESTION: The word torture, what's your definition?

"BUSH: Word torture? You mean kinda like when Scottie answered every question with "I won't comment on an ongoing investigation?
(LAUGHTER)

"QUESTION: Right. But could you--

"BUSH: Well I could. But first can I rub your head?
(LAUGHTER)

"BUSH: It's shiny. Your bald head, so bright. I think I'm going blind.
(LAUGHTER)

"QUESTION: I might consider that torture. Would you?

"BUSH: Torture is defined in U.S. law, and we don't torture.

"QUESTION: Can you give me your version of it, sir? So would you or wouldn't you rub my bald head?

"BUSH: No. Heh, heh, heh. I can't answer you now, cuz you went and pushed me.
(LAUGHTER)
"BUSH: And when you push me, I push back.
(LAUGHTER)
"BUSH: Whatever the law says."
(LAUGHTER)

"QUESTION: So if congress passes a law--

"BUSH: Then I veto it. I am the law. Heh, heh, heh.
(LAUGHTER)
