This guy should be in prison, not on cable.

He's not an elder statesman, he's a felon.

:wtf:

3. Can I get out a flashlight or something to speed up the process?
It's just weird. How many people has this bastard gotten dead? Charlie Rose should be ashamed of himself for giving this vampire air time.

5. According to Wiki, he was born in 1923.
After all his war crimes, I just can't believe he is being hosted on Charlie Rose.

This asshole is responsible for the Viet Nam war going on after Johnson. Half of the names on the wall wouldn't be there but for him.

7. Going on *during* Johnson, too
Derailed the 1968 Paris Peace Talks for Nixon. People still act incredulous if you suggest Republicans will blithely subvert the gov't and spill blood to get their way, but they've been doing it -- and getting away with it -- for a loooong time. Kissinger walking around fat and happy is a prime exhibit.

9. That's right. Absolutely right.
So, wtf is this criminal doing on cable? He should be behind bars.

12. I have no idea
Even when he was one of the most reviled people on the planet back in the 70s, half the press covered him as some sort of glitterati, reporting on whatever blonde babe he was dating that week. It was freakish then, and of course, much worse now. With the Nixon crew getting whacked right and left, it was impossible that he'd get away unscathed. But he never even got his hair mussed. The fucker's led a charmed life.

14. How many bad guys have been on '60 Minutes'?
Kissinger's take on world affairs still carries weight. If a host like Rose can land him, he'd be a fool to pass it up.

Would that we had many more like Rose, interviewing heroes and criminals — as long as they're legitimately so.

15. Here is a historic exchange between Kissinger and Nixon about the toppling of Chile's gov't in 1973
Nixon: Nothing new of any importance or is there?

Kissinger: Nothing of very great consequence. The Chilean thing is getting consolidated and of course the newspapers are bleeding because a pro-Communist government has been overthrown.

Nixon: Isn't that something. Isn't that something.

Kissinger: I mean instead of celebrating – in the Eisenhower period we would be heroes.

Nixon: Well we didn't – as you know – our hand doesn't show on this one though.

Kissinger: We didn't do it. I mean we helped them. created the conditions as great as possible.

Nixon: That is right. And that is the way it is going to be played.

The coup happened on Sept. 11, 1973.
