Rep. King’s new name for SCHIP. Today on the House floor, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) introduced a new name for the acronym SCHIP — “Socialized Clinton-style Hillarycare for Illegals and their Parents"

1. He was not trying to be funny ...

That is just who he is. A showman, drama queen, lover of his mug on TV. He talks a lot, does nothing for his district.

He was elected because in redistricting of Iowa the western, rural side of Iowa was lopped off from the rest of the state. The district is about 60% republican 15% democratic. He won a primary of who could be most outrageous and politically incorrect. However, his game is wearing thin even on the conservatives these days. I would expect a primary challenge for him, if he does not try to take on Sen. Harkin next year ... and that is my hope because he would go down in flames.
