The (Pete) Stark Truth: "Ill-advised" Words EMBOLDEN Criticism of Bush, New American 12-step Program
Edited on Fri Oct-19-07 03:35 PM by johnfunk
Rep. Stark dared say it: he dared suggest that "Popular War Preznit" Bush is in what Gen. Smedley Butler characterized as The War Racket for his own (and Cheney's) amusement.

Stark was not talking about a statesman -- he was talking about a spoiled, shallow, ever-adolescent legacy frat boy who is prejudiced against anything and anyone that is not a component of his American elite -- the energy cartel, Wall Street banks, business and media interests tied to his old-money Skull'n'Boner Eli pals. Sick middle-class children? Fuck'em! Go die already! Millions of displaced Iraqis or those unlucky enough to "get their heads blown off"? Well, excuse me, but look at the way he handles critical questions from the press about the worst foreign relations disaster in American history -- they're harshing his war buzz!

And some DUers are shocked -- shocked! -- that an elected official dares imply that our "pop'lur wartime Preznit" gets off on all the 'splozhins!

It's about time someone dared say it in the well of the House.

Rep. Fortney "Pete" Stark dared to frame an crucial facet of the most important issue of our day:

Our Child King is an out-of-control, megalomaniacal sociopath who must be stopped. The most powerful country in the free world is being run by Kennedrunkport's answer to Eric Cartman.

And there is a twelve-step program to undo the damage of George W. Bush:

  1. Democrats must admit they have no control over George W. Bush through conventional legislative or judicial mechanisms.
  2. Democrats must turn to the Constitution to take control of their problem
  3. Articles of Impeachment against Bush and Cheney must be drafted
  4. Articles of Impeachment shall be sent to the House of Representatives by the House Judiciary Committee
  5. The House shall, by majority vote, impeach George w. Bush and Richard Cheney on one or more Articles
  6. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and DSCC Chairman Chuck Schumer will make it clear that Senate Republicans who consider blowjobs "guilty"-worthy but lies that have hemorrhaged our treasury, destroyed our power and stature among nations, killed OVER 4000 US citizens (not to mention the exposure of the CIA's most important program to STOP nuclear proliferation in the Middle East, which has resulting in the TORTURE and DEATH of US assets abroad) are "acquittal"-worthy will be targeted for removal at the ballot-box -- and removed by We the People
  7. The Senate shall convict and remove Bush and Cheney
  8. President Pelosi will appoint special counsel to investigate the crimes of Bush and Cheney, including breaches of international treaties and war crimes
  9. Bush and Cheney shall be indicted for their crimes
  10. Bush and Cheney shall be tried and convicted of their crimes
  11. Bush and Cheney shall be incarcerated for their crimes, until...
  12. Bush and Cheney are extradited to the Hague to stand trial for war crimes, thereby proving America stands by the rule of law
ON EDIT: Spelling.

51. Exactly, America has a fascist problem...
The entire GOP is a party of fascist and fascist enablers, add
on some Democratic stooges; and you get an idea of the nature
and scope of America's problem.

I'd already taken to calling the former Texas governor's so-called foreign policy the "Cartman Doctrine."

But the same goes for his domestic policy, especially after the S-CHIP debacle.

54. How to wake up Congress? Fax 'em, write 'em, call 'em
Here's what I usually do:
  • Type out my main point(s) briefly and succinctly. Example:
    • Speaker Pelosi made our party look weak and divided when she spoke out against Rep. Stark's comments
    • Criticism of Bush's behavior emboldens further criticism of Bush and strengthens the party's image and unity
    • I will not give one red cent to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee until they stand up for elected officials who criticize the President's repeated, open, contemptous behavior
  • Call my Congressman's chief of staff (you should be able to find the information on your Congresscritter's Web site) and make the above points
  • Repeat above with both Senate offices
  • Turn bullet points into a letter; fax and mail it to your elected officials
Believe it or not, I've got all the numbers on my dialer, and I have letter templates in OpenOffice; the whol process takes me less than 15 minutes, and it DOES have an effect.
