PAEDOPHILE RING IN PORTUGAL.
Why Portugal is a haven for paedophiles - the disturbing backcloth to the Madeleine case.

'A ferrari engine makes a deep, distinctive sound.

When the children at Portugal's most famous orphanage heard the sports car roaring down the driveway, fear swept through the dormitories.

The noise could mean only one thing: the man known as The Doctor was coming to call.

Yet this medical practitioner had no intention of adhering to the ancient Hippocratic Oath.

Instead, arriving at Casa Pia (House of the Pious), a 17th century Lisbon orphanage where more than 4,000 children are cared for each year behind high stone walls, the doctor would summon selected boys and girls from their beds for examinations one night each week.

After checking that the children were not suffering from any sexual infections, the doctor was joined by the orphanage caretaker, known as Bibi, who ushered the unfortunate children outside to a waiting van.

With the doctor following in his red Ferrari, Bibi drove the van to the prestigious homes of some of the leading members of Lisbon society - ranging from Portuguese government ministers and high-ranking diplomats, to famous television stars and members of the judiciary.

1. Be aware the Mail is a tabloid, with a light-hearted approach to truth
especially in stories that involve unnamed people, and 'foreigners'. Take anything they say in this story about as seriously as if a guy you'd never met said it in a bar.

2. Despite the source it is reality based - sadly.
Though its not exactly a recent case, it may be relevant I suppose.

"The scandal emerged last November but escalated last week with the arrests of the spokesman of the main opposition Socialist party and of a former Portuguese ambassador to South Africa.

The impunity which for decades on end has made this case a shame for all of us will finally end
President Jorge Sampaio

The developments sparked an outcry in Portugal, particularly when it was reported that a former president and several government ministers, as well as the police, knew of the allegations as far back as the early 1980s but failed to take action.

"Faced with the horror that so many children, who were entrusted to us to be educated and cared for, were victimised it is necessary to declare here that the president is certain that the guilty will be severely punished," President Sampaio said in a speech.

The latest high-profile arrests are of men publicly accused of sex abuse by former children of Casa Pia, Portugal's largest network of homes for troubled children.

Casa Pia first made the headlines following allegations that an employee at the institution allegedly helped wealthy child molesters to meet young boys in his care for over two decades. "

Another case of the prominent and powerful being implicated in child abuse. Is it that they have been rightly exposed as abusers, or that they were being controlled through blackmail... or both??

4. Portugal and Thailand may well be havens for pedophiles,
but the capitol of the USA might as well be Auschwitz. America is at least as responsible for both the Armenian genocide and the Holocaust as those who participated directly; they couldn't have done it without America's financial, technological, legal, and international backing and wholehearted support. It's no wonder Bushco doesn't want all of fascist America's culpability in the Armenian genocide brought to light.

5. This was true of Belgium, with higher-ups. It's true in Thailand. IMO, it's the case everywhere,
no major countries excepted.

There are simply too many street-children and orphans.
