Street Flooding in New Orleans
Eight + inches of rain in the big easy yesterday and yet the pumps are working as they are intended!?! Also rivers are overflowing their boundaries in South Mississippi with a slight chance of more rain today. Meanwhile not a drop in Georgia and the fires still smoldering in California. Please Mother Nature, tweak a bit will ya!

2. Dare I say stay dry? I did hear the flooding mentioned briefly, but
CA is getting the headlines. 8" is a lot in a little bit of time. It floods here, but I don't think we have pumps. Yes, Mom Nature needs to try some redirection.

3. We're still waiting on rain in NE Tennessee
We are completely dry - but the system was supposed to be dumping buckets of rain on us. It's staying just to the west of Knoxville, leaving those in this hard hit region wondering where the rain is at? The sky is cloudy, but nothing more than a little mist in the A.M.

Good luck down there in NOLA, Boss.

5. Have the pumps ever been able to handle more than 6 inches of rain in a day?

8. Its truly amazing
the corps of engineers has been working on the pumps and levees (levees not an issue for a rain shower) for the past two years and yet the rains come, the streets still flood. And there are some godawful large mean looking pumps in New Orleans right on the highway.

11. Per the New Orleans Noon Newscast
the cold front hovering about NOLA and South Mississippi right now is headed your way. Cloudy, windy and 59 degrees right now. Down right wintry for this part of the country. But the AC hasn't been on in five days. I'm almost looking forward to the next electric bill.

13. is the front dropping all that rain?
I will look forward to it moving through.

I would LOVE to open the windows and get some fresh air in this house.

I love winter electric bills!

Stay dry - and see if you can't scoop up some of that extra water you've got laying around and send it to Atlanta, would you please?

14. The front that most likely
will be your weather maker in a few days doesn't have much rain involved with it. Mostly cool air.

16. We're fine My Dear
However, some folks in low lying areas near the Pearl River and a couple of creeks around here are bracing for some home flooding later on today and this evening.

There is no doubt in my mind that Louisianians will soon rue their election last weekend. All jindal does is talk about cleaning up corruption, therefore taking attention away from himself. And to think there were three competent persons running against him so much more up to the job. He is a novelty who hopefully someday will actually have to make a living.

My wife was out of town over the weekend so I was going to take advantage of that and go to New Orleans on Saturday Christmas Shopping but there was a gas truck wreck and subsequent explosion and the interstate between Slidell and New Orleans was closed for 12 hours so I'll have to venture forth another day.
