John Garamendi, CA's Lieutenant Governor, rocks!
He was just on the tweety show, and tweets didn't like him one bit. He cut him off to give the rest of the segment to a repug. But John gave it to chimp, said he didn't care if chimp visits our state or not, and called him out on bringing the troops home! I've seen John in a small barn setting talking to local activists and he is awesome! He is a true liberal with guts. LOL. I'm sure tweets had no idea what John was going to say, but he got it in, LIVE! :) :toast: :toast: :bounce: :bounce:

2. If Garamendi had won the nomination instead of Bradley way back when...
...he would've been governor of California, and we would've been spared 8 years of Deukmejian....

3. Interesting
I'm sure you're right. God, I hope this man runs for Governor in the next election. He is very impressive in person, and fearless!

7. I know why you added the sarcasm icon
but your words would read as well without it, because literally nothing would surprise me at this point.

5. I was thinking of starting the very same thread!!

It was awesome to hear him not even attempt to use the typical cliches we often hear in these situations and go straight to "He WILL be interfering with the firefighting efforts!" I don't think Tweety was expecting such straight talk!

9. At the Ca. Dem convention, most thought he would run for Gov.
when Arnie leaves. I met him and heard him speak many times. He tried to attend every caucus. He is impressive.

12. Good to hear.
Thanks. He really comes across like a heavyweight. He can hold an audience and he is comfortable in his own skin, so to speak. I think he would be a great candidate for Governor, and I'm glad there is buzz about it. The only thing that gave me pause during his brief time on hardball (before tweets cut him off), was when he said something along the lines of we don't need the president because we have the governator. This rehabilitation of the groper isn't sitting well with me, and I was surprised to hear him say that. I wonder how you think this plays into his possible candidacy.

13. He was critical of Arnie in his speeches at the convention
I doubt he supports Arnie on much but it is time to try to work together and get California help with this crisis. Maybe that's what he meant.

I do know that Lockyer is not well liked by many because he was so pro-Arnie.

15. Well, I'm glad to hear that.
If he's gonna run against the groper, he can't be playing nicey -poo.

10. God, how I wanted John Garamendi to run against Arnold in the
last election instead of Phil Angeledes. John would have wiped the floor with Arnold. I want John to be governor of Ca in the very near future - he would make a great governor.

14. Yes I agree
Garamendi can command attention. Phil was okay, but he just didn't have any charisma at all.
