We need someone to replace Pete Stark in Congress |
|
He had his chance to stick it to the Bush junta. A motion to censure him went nowhere. And guess what Rep. Stark did anyway? He APOLOGIZED for telling the truth. He kissed Herr Decider's ass while begging His Sadistic Highness for forgiveness.
We want no such men in the House who fold up like yesterday's newspaper. So who are we going to replace him with?

|
He had so much pressure put on him by his own party that he simply had no choice and for that these Pussie Dems that did not have his back really need to go.

|
who really want SOMETHING DONE, to sit down and SHUT-UP! Don't blames Pete Stark, BLAME those who PUSHED AND PRODDED him to do what he didn't want to do! Getting censured ain't no feather in your hat you know!!
I simply CAN'T believe all the SPINELESS, Wimpy Democrats who just fold and bow down to The Idiot, DECIDER and his cohorts!! I can't wait to hear the "reason" for this one, this time!
We can't get anything done because the Senate doesn't have the votes, we can't get anything done because we don't have a true majority... Well THEY CAN'T get anything done because they're just too DAMN stupid and would rather shut up rather than fight! I'm so pissed about this that I'm about ready to completely denounce the Democratic Party! I KNOW there ARE some good ones, but they can't get ANY UNITY when they keep eating their own!
What a load of CRAP!!

21. Now there you go, good reasoning, why should he have to go it |
|
alone, what the hell would be wrong with the Dems sticking together just once, just one time on something. They were not necessarily wrong in this and besides if they had just told the Republicans to go f--- themselves, eventually it would have gone away, the RW radio jocks would have eventually shut up when they saw it was going nowhere. The dems could have just moved on with business as usual but no Ms. Nancy tells him he has to apologize.

by the Democrats is utterly disgusting. And what's worse is... they don't seem to realize just how bad it makes them look!
Democrats I know are getting very fed up and I can see many of them BOLTING! Hey, I feel like it myself!
And please, don't use that tired old statement... you know the one about not letting the door hit you on the way out! I'm not the one who backs down all the time!

how 'bout letting those of us in his district consider this?
for the record, i don't agree with you. i hate what Rep Stark did, but overall his record is solid from a good Dem standpoint. i am hoping that he follows this debacle up (soon) with a similar statement that pulls no punches, and contains nothing that could be considered as hyperbole that might require some kind of apology to Bu$h butt-kissers.
mebbe work on electing some Dem representatives in the Dallas area instead? that may go a long way to help the cause.

you are pissed of at some guy who was forced to apologize? What about the 5 "present" Dems and the 5 that voted TO CENSURE him?
He's a victim, and I hope we don't replace him with anyone.

Pete Stark has been elected over and over and over again by his district, they aren't going to change now. So what he apologized? It's not going to have a serious impact on the real issue, so it's not that important.

13. Problem is that we the people were not able to muster Enough support for Stark. |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 07:34 PM by terisan
As a movement we are not sufficiently organized. We needed to have a committee ready in each district to storm the House of Reps offices (local will do) with meetings with our reps telling them to back Stark-or if Repubs telling them to leave him alone.
It is like Gore when the election was being stolen---never enough troops ready at a given moment on our side. We have had some big marches and I am not knocking them, but we need to be ready for these skirmishes.

I hear what you're saying, but if I'm to believe that the Democratic Party at large is still in the "herding cats" mode even after all it's been through, we're in seriously big trouble.

You live in Stark's district?
What's that you say? You don't?
Worry about your own district in Texas. The people in Stark's California district are well-served by him, as he's an excellent congressman.

When Stark spoke the truth, I applauded. I was so jazzed and energized. Finally, here was someone who was going to stand up to both George W. Bush and Nancy Pelosi. But he caved. And this serves neither you nor the American people at large, let alone the troops.

38. I support Pete Stark 100%. |
|
That being said, I feel that his statement regarding Busholini was a distraction from the point that he was trying to make. Spending money on S-CHIP is more important than spending it on a losing US Occupation. He made an emotional statement of his extreme frustration with the Repugs & the Busholini Regime. The part about Busholini deriving amusement of US Troops' heads being blown off was over the top. I think Mr. Stark realized that and apologized in a dignified manner. That should be the end of that. The struggle for providing funds for S-CHIP and ending the US Occupation needs to continue.
